Independent journalist Bari Weiss accepted an invitation from Twitter users to “debate” the FBI after the agency labeled the "Twitter Files" as “misinformation.”

Weiss' open challenge to the FBI came after the agency framed the "Twitter Files" as the work of "conspiracy theorists."

"It is unfortunate that conspiracy theorists and others are feeding the public misinformation with the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency," the FBI wrote in a statement to Fox News.

Left-wing politicians and media personalities have attempted to discredit the "Twitter Files" and the journalists who released the information online. Weiss has said the only condition of working with Musk was that they first had to release their findings on Twitter. Though Weiss and Taibbi have liberal backgrounds, outlets like the Washington Post and MSNBC have labeled them "conservative" or "right-leaning" in an apparent effort to impugn their integrity.

"The misleading ‘Twitter Files’ cherry picks examples. But anecdotes do not constitute data," Rep. Ted Lieu, a Democrat from California, tweeted on Dec. 17.
 
Day before Christmas and we are entertained with yet ANOTHER Twitter thread. How many is that now? Two dozen, or more? Tomorrow, Christmas Eve, we will see more Twitter threads. Talk about folks who have a burr in their saddle.

Nobody in the goverment is capable of having a free & open 'debate' on anything. The goverment doesn't debate. They have a talking head spokesman who reads off carefully crafted letters which took govement execs days to write.

This is true. The FBI isn't going to debate anyone. Weiss knows this, which is why he offered. It doesn't mean anything. Kinda like the whole Twitter Files nonsense - nothing.

The "new FBI"??? FBI Director Christopher Wray was nominated by Trump and confirmed by a Republican-controlled Senate.
 
I would pay more attention if the emails etc weren't taken out of context and then couched by the "journalist" in a very specific way to fit the narrative Musk wants to present. I've pretty much given up trying to have a conversation about them because some posters here are so dug in they just don't listen to any other explanation. Not unlike the Hunter laptop conspiracy narrative .......

That didn't happen. It simply did not happen. Do some independent research and find some real facts. It's not hard.
 
Of course she'd love to debate FBI. Look, she's a social media "journalist" so we know the game here.
 
Interestingly CNN is doing an investigative piece on this. They are taking specific emails directly to the Twitter exec who wrote them and the FBI and asking for context and the specific dealings around them. I'm hoping they put together an hour long special on it. Wonder why Fox isn't doing something similar.

I would agree 100% that we should not. However, since this thread is about Twitter, your attempt to deflect away from my statement with a whataboutism is duly noted.
 
Those lying bastards at the FBI have absolutely no concept of ethical behavior.
Man, these people need to GTFO and quick.
