(Axios) "Egg prices plunging as bird flu subsides and shortages dissipate"

Doubling down on bizarre is a curious tactic. Claiming Democrats were complaining about egg prices is about as dishonest as one can be. That's the premise of the OP. Which is bizarre.

Calling you out on this is to be expected. Nothing dishonest about it.

You are confused. These are reactions to Trump's promise to lower prices - of everything - on day one.

Not much I can do to ease your confusion. That's on you.

You're seriously sticking with this silly bullshit?

You claimed that no Democrats were complaining about egg prices or blaming Trump. I posted three links proving your claim to be completely wrong. One of them was literally an article titled, "Why should America worry about Trump? Try the price of eggs, say some Democrats."

The point of the OP was that neither Biden or Trump were to blame for rising egg costs and that it's an ineffective tactic for the Democrats to be harping on it as an attack on Trump. Hence why I said this:
The idea that Biden or Trump was to blame for egg costs was always absurd as it was clearly due to the supply being decimated by the avian influenza outbreak. It has always been a distraction from discussing and addressing real issues. Instead of talking about silly blame games for asinine things, Democrats will hopefully start to shift their focus to proposals of intelligent solutions for legitimate problems.

I get that it makes you upset that I make such a straightforward and correct point, but your feelings don't make me wrong. Hence why I also said this:

any hope they have of becoming a competitive party again is dependent upon their ability to persuade voters with their ideas (not their emotions) over the next few years.

Now that the Republicans have unfairly exploited the issue for political gain, we turn to the Democrats to be the adults in the room.
There were posts here about egg prices and fuel on the rise 30 days from inauguration.
The "adults" are reduced to burning and defecating on Teslas.

Trump ran his campaign on lowering egg prices. People voted for Trump based on egg prices. Trump got elected, in part, because people were complaining about egg prices. These people are not Democrats.

Your OP is a huge fail. I know rewriting history is the big new thing, but the campaign is fresh in everyone's memory.

Ima skip the rest. Whatever follows is built on a bizarre falsehood - that Democrats initiated the egg wars. No sir, that was Trump. And you fell for it. Sad.

“I won on the border, and I won on groceries,” Trump said. Highlighting the struggles everyday individuals feel, Trump referred to the rising grocery prices as the main focus of his campaign.

Only gullible fools believe lyin’ Traitor Trump’s lies.
Namely, the left. The only people who took that literally. The only people crying over that "day one" stuff.

Any exit poll will show you the economy, namely inflation, was voters' #1 or #2 concern. Trying to blame everything on the left, to the extent of denying reality, is very weak.

Trump made campaign promises. If they weren't meant to be kept, they shouldn't have been made. Very simple. Calling Trump on his fraudulent/failed campaign promise is standard politics. It's standard homo sapiens. People expect promises to be kept. Except MAGA, apparently.

Utter nonsense.

You can’t point to any Dem that has indicated a belief in Traitor Trump’s groceries promise. Not a single one.

So no one should take what he says seriously, yes?
:)
This really is the gist of it. The excuse for Trump's failures/fraudulent behaviors is to characterize him as a clown. A buffoon. A regular stand up comedian. Never to be taken seriously. Let's make him POTUS.

This is why it's still, and will always be a cult.

It was as believable as the claim the war in Ukraine would be easy to settle. How's that going?
😉

What I find humorous is the MAGAverse's penchant for flip flopping on when and when not to take him seriously.
🙂

And on the other hand, I'm sure we could find many MAGA posts defending Trump's promises. How many argued "drill baby drill" would solve all our problems? Price of gas cut in half. Groceries to follow.

What ever happened to that? When do we get to the drill baby drill part?

(I wonder if Trump knows Michael Steele coined that phrase. Can't be usin' no stinkin' DEI phrases.)

Saying MAGAts are liars and hypocrites?!?😱

One side has egg on their face and I think everyone here knows who that is. LOL

:ROFLMAO:

Egg prices are suddenly plunging as the bird flu begins to wane and imports surge to fill the gap. Why it matters: A massive outbreak of avian influenza has wiped out more than 166 million chickens since 2022, leading to sporadic egg shortages and price hikes. It's also turned into a political issue with Republicans and Democrats arguing about who's to blame — and President Trump taking credit for the decline in prices in recent weeks. By the numbers: The average wholesale price of a dozen eggs was $3 Friday, down 8% from $3.27 on March 21, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data released Friday. It's down 63% from a record $8.15 in the Feb. 21 report.

Eggs now cost less than they did when Trump took office. After all, any hope they have of becoming a competitive party again is dependent upon their ability to persuade voters with their ideas (not their emotions) over the next few years. Disingenuously complaining about egg prices is one of those things that has gotten them a 27-29% approval rating.
A dozen large white eggs at Walmart are still $4.97 with jumbo's costing $6.22. I'm not blaming either party for egg prices. But they're still at least twice what they're worth.

We know it's OK with you if your leaders lie to you. You have been conditioned by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh to accept the lies. I always knew Trump never could and wouldn't even try to bring down egg prices. Trump is a billionaire. He would pay $100/doz if he needed the eggs. He doesn't care. He only cares what his voters believe.

Liberals aren't happy about this. I wouldn't be surprised if democrats proposed legislation to raise the price of eggs.

Maybe we stopped culling the flocks and guess what? We now have enough chickens!

Yes, we know your stance is that no culling should have ever happened and Bird Flu should have been allowed to run rampant until it mutated into a human-infectious strain and caused another pandemic.

I'm not seeing it yet in the stores, and there are reasons why we may not see it for awhile longer.
