Attorneys for George Zimmerman,..say they can't find him, fear for his safety [W:169]

Re: Attorneys for George Zimmerman,..say they can't find him, fear for his safety [W:

So you are going with the special prosecution is NOT acting legally but is acting politically. Interesting.

Learn that they are not mutually exclusive. That means you can act legally AND politically. :doh

Its not illegal for the DA to charge someone with a crime. And it is not unheard of that people get charge with something for political reasons.

Re: Zimmerman charged

I thought that she did a very good job with all of her statements. Politely told the Press that they were full of ****, and that the State had this under proper control now.

If the special prosecutor thought that there was absolutely not much of anything there she would not have proceeded, passing it off the GJ would have been viewed as done for political reasons. It could get to the court room and the judge could dismiss the whole case before it really even gets started while in the preliminary hearings.

Re: Zimmerman charged

Of course there will be people who are upset. However, the OVERWHELMING majority of the people in this country simply wanted justice to be served and that means, make an arrest and have a jury trial.
Justice means following the law. Not taking someone to trial because the masses call for it.

Re: Zimmerman charged

Zimmerman was already out of the car following Martin when the operator asked. Nothing proves he continued.

The operator told him to stay put before he left the car so it does prove he continued.

It is unknown who the agrgressor was.

No it is not.

What are you basing this on? You've been saying it for days and I have been asking you for some evidence for days. You keep saying I am ignoring it. But you havent shown it yet.

That's because you've been ignoring the evidence for days, even though I told you to look at for days.

Re: Zimmerman charged

NO. It is highly unlikely that any evidence worth a crap will be presented one way or the other on that question. Z's case rests on him being defending himself when he pulled the trigger. Everything else in the case may remain unknown, and unproven. Not saying its the truth. Or that its fair. Just the way it is.

Re: Zimmerman charged

There may be some truth to that. But the overwhelming majority of the people in this country simply wanted an arrest to be made and for justice to run its course.
That is not justice.

Look. You post the same uninformed arguments over and over. He was advised byt he 911 operator. That's all they can do.

What a waste of posting space.

This will be brought up in the trial and I can not see this being good for the defense.

I think it IS illegal to charge someone with a crime when there is not basis for the charge.

Still not that it has never been heard of. Just like many things are illegal people still break the law.

Re: Zimmerman charged

Z's case rests on him being defending himself when he pulled the trigger.
This is true.
And that claim to self defense goes out the window if Z started the altercation.
Hence, Z's claim rests on M throwing the first punch.
W/o that detail, Z cannot claim self defense.

Again. No it does not. They may never be able to show any evidence of "the first punch". If it remains basically proven or unproven, then the focus becomes whether or not Z was being beaten when he pulled the trigger.

Think.

Re: Zimmerman charged

This is what happened.

Well, perhaps not "illegal", as it would have to be shown that the DA fabricated their evidence. But that is why we have a habeus corpus review.

Do you know the law ?

Re: Zimmerman charged

So I just heard, from a US Asst Atty, that most likely Zimmerman's attorney would ask the judge to make a ruling on his immunity due to the SYG law so it may never get to a trial...
This is a logical thing to do.
I doubt a Judge will grant the motion, a Judge might, but I doubt it. But the motion needs to be on record for appeal purposes.

Look it's okay if you don't understand common sense when you don't see it. I have pills you can take for your inability to create an argument. You troll over everyone else over and over again. They had Zimmerman in custody and now that he's gone it's gonna be even more time wasted.

Gosh so Lame.:coffeepap

So what are you contending? Legally, politically or both?

Re: Zimmerman charged

I noticed that as well.......

Also her mention of the prosecutors and how they worked long and hard to "find" justice for Trayvon Martin.

I know it happens. I'm just trying to flesh out where people who have staked a claim stand on it. One guy ric has thrown in with a post that the special prosecutor HAD to press charges to "appease" (his word not mine) the black community. At first Eighty seem to back that assertion up and I'm just trying to find out if that is what position he wants to take. He's been rather slippery about it up to now at least.

Re: Zimmerman charged

Is this something that is argued before a judge or just a motion?
It can be, but doesn't have to be.
