Good heavens. Why?
I doubt anyone can blame this on US presence in the ME.
A lot of western tourists in the region, makes it a tasty target for Islamic militants.

Tunisia attack on Sousse beach 'kills 27' - BBC News
Rough day to follow the news that's for sure. I wonder if this is tied with ISIS rally call for militants to step up their attacks during Ramadan.
Good heavens. Why?
I doubt anyone can blame this on US presence in the ME.
I stayed in Port El Kantoui nearly 8 years ago for 2 weeks holiday, jogged along that same beautiful beach, swam in that clear lovely water. Our hotel was two away from the Imperial Merhaba which was where the attacks happened today.
What a horrible day and my sympathies out to the holidaymakers who were caught up or killed today.

I was in the El Mouradi Palm Marina next door to the Merhaba just last September. I went parasailing on the very spot much of the killing took place.
We did some parasailing there too - some of the clearest seas you could imagine below. Such a shame that Tunisia is being targeted by these scum.
what is actually depressing about this "islamophobia" is that another spike in hate crimes/violent assaults against muslim minorities is likely to be expected after every terrorist attack now. The two extremes feed off of each other
They are now saying 37 dead and 36 injured with that total expected to rise.
Just imagine if this had happened in the States. Every gun nut there would currently be clearing the gun shop shelves of AK47s and their ammo
Main target is Tunisia itself, namely the state form it's chosen. That would imply a clash of cultures.
radical islamism has no limit and its militants are not even mentally normal guys .now we have such a fact that we all accept but there is still an important detail related to this ignored by most .The US military intervention in Iraq that we call the gulf crisis now caused the islamist defensive movement to gain power in the region .they politically hate US and they attack US based locations intentionally .less dangerous El qaeda took the form of throat cutting ISIS because at the same time USA wanted to get rid of its old friends and helped civil wars occur in the ME.Isıs is just its result.we condemn these attacks but ignore how it happened.whether you like or not.it is jihad as many of you claim or not but for the ones who ask the movitation behind this ,it is a political occurence.
Tunisia attack: Majority of dead were British, says Tunisia PM
The majority of the 38 people killed in the attack on a Tunisian beach resort were British, the country's prime minister Habib Essid has said.
Islamic State extremists have claimed responsibility for the attack ~
An emergency Cobra meeting chaired by the prime minister is due to take place later to look at the UK's response to the attacks. Link.
You're going to take this tragedy and use it in one of your anti-U.S. rants? Seriously?
They are now saying 37 dead and 36 injured with that total expected to rise. They are also saying one shooter was responsible and that he hid his AK47 in a beach umbrella. Just how much ammunition must this guy have been carrying given he was only wearing shorts and a T shirt ?
