'Astonishing Moral Cowardice': Sanders and Khanna Denounce $738 Billion Bipartisan Pentagon Giveaway | Common Dreams News

Great! 12 weeks paid parental leave for federal workers in exchange for giving Trump and the Senate literally everything they wanted, including that ridiculous 'Space Force', and otherwise getting rolled; pathetic. So much for the so-called 'resistance', Pelosi's vaunted leadership and the House majority, especially on matters of obvious consequence such as this.

So Sander's view is that unless we support terrorist insurgents in Yemen against Saudi Arabia, we should abolish our military. Anyone surprised he furiously supports radicals and terrorists against the USA and wants to totally eliminate our military on their behalf?

Hot take. However, not wanting to be party to Saudi Arabia's war crime riddled conflict with Yemen has exactly nothing to do with 'supporting terrorist insurgents' there, not even getting into your laughably asinine assertions that Sanders 'supports radicals and terrorists against the USA' or 'wants to totally eliminate our military'.

Holy hyperbolic nonsense Batman!

Well, he's getting "impeached" so it doesn't matter right?

Nah. Pelosi kowtowing to the Republicans and playing legislative pattycakes with them is a problem well beyond Trump. Whatever reputation she has for being a so-called 'master legislator' is utterly undermined by this, nevermind her likewise glaring failure to rescind the Bush era Medicare Modernization Act's repeal of drug price negotiation rights for Medicare, ostensibly in hope of getting Senate and executive sign offs. To essentially no one's surprise, it was ultimately blocked anyways (and she had to be dragged kicking and screaming by progressives to a version of the bill that was half-way substantive).

Not sure why you're poo pooing the Space Force as experts of all political persuasions thing it a good idea. Few months ago I was listening to (iirc an expert from NASA) NPR and he also was saying that it was a good idea.

Why Trump'''s Space Force is a bad idea, according to a Lehigh prof and former astronaut - lehighvalleylive.com

Trump’s “Space Force” idea is a terrible solution to a real problem.

To summarize/condense:

#1: The function is already handled by the air force.

#2: The formation of this new branch of the military creates administrative and bureaucratic redundancies that wastes money while undermining command integration (a point specifically brought up by James Mattis).

#3: Space operations are strictly supportive at the moment of other branches of the armed forces, and thus it makes sense to have them be subordinate to one or more existing branches, rather than creating a separate and co-equal branch unaccountable to them.

#4: Overall, while one can argue that an escalation of resources for space operations as well as a reorganization of how space assets are currently commanded may be beneficial, there does not seem to be a specific, pressing need for a separate Space Force branch specifically at this time, or at the very least, one has yet to be demonstrated; a change of this significance should be justified by sober and objective studies as opposed to individual opinion or presidential whims.

Inb4 the Conservatard-adjacent Democratic establishment comes in to **** up the thread about Bernie "Women Have Rape Fantasies" Sanders (clearly a different Bernie Sanders probably the one from the Upside-Down where most Democrats live) being antisemitic and a commieRussianAsset! But they won't stop there, no, not until they've tried to bully you into voting for Trump/GOP on at least one occasion (true story too, right after I got done telling him his unhealthy obsession with Bernie Sanders was going to get Trump reelected. He literally all he could come up with was, "LMAO WHY DONT YOU VOTE TRUMP HERPDERP"

This country is a ****ing disgrace...

Biden certainly thinks you should 'vote for Trump' if you disagree with him on policy: Movimiento Cosecha on Twitter: ""YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR TRUMP" - @JoeBiden.

An immigrant leader confronted Biden in Greenwood, SC about her fear of ICE. She said it's hard for the community to trust him because he defends Obama's deportations.

Then Biden told the Cosecha organizer translating to vote for Trump.… https://t.co/9K8AktXH62"

What? No aspect of what he said implies any of this.

Guess everyone's a Trump supporter now...

...mother of god we're ****ed.

If Democrats are dumb enough to nominate Joe Biden, they deserve the consequences.

I've never supported Biden, but the problem is that person was demanding something impossible, which is to stop ALL deportations - none. If you want a candidate to tell you it will happen, you're asking for someone to be a liar to make you feel good, because a policy of NO deportations just will never happen and frankly should never happen. And such a policy won't have public support and if enacted would be a bloodbath for the Democratic party.

It's better to engage people and explain why than telling them if they don't like it vote for the other guy, but at some level reasoning with someone like that is a waste of time.

Yes it is obviously better to at least make an attempt to reason with someone who is clearly a Democrat as opposed to a bad faith heckler, rather than blowing him off like this when you haven't even won the primary. Joe was frankly being a dismissive, arrogant asshole whether or not this protester could be persuaded. Moreover, at the time the protester was explaining his rightful disappointment with Obama's immigration policy; nothing about that at all justifies what Biden said.
