Arnold stands up again for Californians!

Why do you suppose that gay marriage is a politically correct thing rather than simply a correct thing?
 
Although I completely disagree with not allowing gay marriage, I respect Arnold of abiding by the wishes of his constituency.

The voters of California in a referendum voted gay marriage down a few years ago.........The voters have spoken..............

I know I've said it...but Galen is actually one of the most, if not the most, open-minded and intelligent "conservatives" on this site....

(But between you and I Galen.....even though I know in your heart you believe it....I don't think you are a conservative....just a wayward liberal looking to be found;) ...I mean really....any guy with an avatar like yours can't be all bad....)
 
One thing that I actually like about Arnold is that he has indicated that personally he has no problem with gay marriage, he just thinks that either the voters should decide or the Supreme Court makes a decision. I think he is wrong on the "voters decide" issue because I think there are a lot of things that the voters would decide on that would be wrong and unconstitutional. I am glad that he does seem to understand this and has indicated that he would respect the Supreme Courts position if it decides that discriminating against gays is unconstitutional. Don't hold your breath though. Our "wonderful" joke of a former Governor - Pete Wilson appointed some ultra right wackos to the court.

Many conservatives as well as liberals oppose fake/homosexual marriage,he happens to be a liberal who opposes fake/homosexual marriage.But look at what he supports.

Actually SB777 does not say anything about the things you are claiming. That speculated how gay rights group might interpret and push what they could get away with. I am never a fan of such politically biased one-sided pseudo news articles like that. Scare tactics and totally manipulative. From more balanced sources it appears the bill merely consolidates things that are already policy but were inconsistent. I am personally not a fan of the way the gay rights advocates with a grip on the legislature and their court appointees have eroded the will of the majority of Californians over the years and through the education system poisoned our young people to think it is politically incorrect to disapprove of homosexuality. I wish Arnold had vetoed the bill but the bill really wasn't what that article made it out to be.

The real problem is our schools have been teaching students such for many years now while the public has kept its head in the sand. Now we have a generation of young people gradually becoming the majority that no longer think there is anything wrong with the gay agenda. That is really the problem and that bill is hardly going to effect the situation. What needs to be done is for the people to rise up with another prop 22 type ballot proposition but more carefully worded that once and for all kills any chance some puppet on the courts will force it down on the rest of us. Of course the Democratic legislature is going to do just that as soon as they can get a Demo in as governor so time is running out. -dave
