The solution to the problems of inequality is not to pretend they don't exist.

The biggest beneficiaries of AA and DEI have been white women. Second place on that list is Asian Americans. And guess what, when given the opportunity, they tend to do, pretty well.

No, the biggest problem is not the shrieking racist, it's how racism can be subtle. The White HR director doesn't go in thinking, "I'm just going to hire white folks today.", but there is still a bias.




I can say one of those jobs I was an absolutely terrible fit, and I only lasted a year. (But I think that was more them than me.)

You are dealing in absolutes. Does EVERY white person get hired because of connections? No. But it helps in some cases.

So is being able to afford a nice suit or someone to professionally write your resume and LinkedIn Profile.

You know something, I think there is both truth and B.S. to the white privilege story. So I'm gonna focus on the B.S. It's gonna be more fun like that I think. Do you think you get any privilege when your in a black community and outnumbered 1 to 10? I live in Thailand. Lived in 5 countries. Travelled the world. There has not been 1 single country outside of the Netherlands where I have not been discriminated against. It's got nothing to do with colour. It is about rejecting what is different. If people all had the same colour, but 10% of the people were very small people, than they would be the ones being discriminated against. Or vice versa when they are big instead of small. Colour just happens to be the easiest identifier for our brain.

The Future Soldiers Prep Course initiated in 2022 once Biden became Commander in Chief has itself turned the recruitment numbers around.

As I've posted to recruitment threads, Biden's SecArmy for his 4 year term Christine Wormuth pointed out before Trump was elected that the Army’s decision to launch the Future Soldier Prep Course at Fort Jackson South Carolina in August 2022 has been a huge success.

I started a thread on this innovative program earlier this year that pointed out that this program was well underway and that it had real promise. The FSPC gives recruits who just miss qualifying up to 90 days of academic or fitness instruction to help them meet military standards and move on to basic combat training. My thread pointed out that already half of 'em were completing their qualification in fewer than 30 days.

In the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2024, the Army met its recruiting goal of 55,000 and began to rebuild its delayed entry pool. About 24% of those recruits came out of the prep course that has expanded to Ft. Benning in GA which is home to the Army Infantry School. Wormuth said she expects the FSPC will contribute about 30% of 2025 recruits.

The program offers extra time and training to recruit applicants who aren't quite ready for boot camp. Leadership says standards have not been lowered.

Since I left the Army in 1992, I've been hired about 10 times. Some lasted as long as 7 years, others lasted less than two.

But every last one of them, the person making the hiring decision was a white person.
