The Arizona Republican Party formally censured Sen. John McCain on Saturday, citing a voting record they say is insufficiently conservative.

The resolution to censure McCain was approved by a voice-vote during a meeting of state committee members in Tempe, state party spokesman Tim Sifert said. It needed signatures from at least 20 percent of state committee members to reach the floor for debate.

Sifert said no further action was expected.

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers declined to comment on the censure.

McCain isn't up for re-election until 2016, when will turn 80. He announced in October that he was considering running for a sixth term.

According to the resolution, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee has campaigned as a conservative but has lent his support to issues "associated with liberal Democrats," such as immigration reform and to funding the law sometimes known as Obamacare.

Several Republican county committees recently censured McCain.....snip~

Time to send Johnny Quest McCain out to pasture. He might want to re think about trying to run in 2016. We need no more of.....Here's Johnny. He has been one of the major screw ups we have had in Foreign Policy.

this tells you everything you need to know about the Arizona TeaPublicans.

I can't vote against these bone headed bastards soon enough. Arizona has serious issues to solve but once again, already, the Tea Bagged dip****s are already wasting time on dumbassery. Sadly there is more where this came from. I was once amazed that these idiots could be so completely stupid. I am amazed no longer.

And yet, when McCain ran in a primary against well known former congressman and tea party hero JD (I want to marry my horse) Hayworth, McCain beat the living snot out of him by 24 points.

The kookfarting teabaggers are in the GOP committees in AZ, but they are a fringe, plus, they have been losing members (like me) who became independent and told these yokels to piss off.

There are lots of morons in our legislature, but some normal ones have been getting in, the problem is that the precincts are all run by the fringe nuts, and The Men In Strange Underwear.

Arizona GOP censures McCain for 'liberal' record

How do the Republicans/Conservatives expect to be taken seriously with stuff like this.

Yahoo!

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Republican Party formally censured Sen. John McCain on Saturday, citing a voting record they say is insufficiently conservative.

Can one of the MODS delete this thread. I just saw the other on in State. Thanks

It gets harder and harder to do anything but laugh at the GOP.

Perhaps by not lumping all Republicans/Conservatives together and making generalizations about all Republican/Conservatives with one example. If that were true, how could Liberal/Democrats be taken seriously with stuff like this:

Using your logic, all liberals are just like 'Carlos Danger' there...

:agree: Add a few other screw-ups to that list, too. And one thing more---how many people really want a 90-year old anybody representing them in Washington... for six years? He may want to reconsider his options.

Greetings, MMC. :2wave:

When a Senator, who is elected for six years, stops representing their constituents and instead represents the power brokers in Washington, what do you think that their constituents should do to let the Senator know who sent them to Washington and why?

When McCain ran last, the tea party put up a well known former congressman, JD Hayworth, in the primary. McCain beat him like a rented mule by 24 points.

The people behind this censure are the fringe kook wing, they don't represent the actual voters in AZ. Trust me.

Re: Arizona GOP censures McCain for 'liberal' record

Romney won Arizona by nine points, 53-44. It's a Republican state, but not that deeply Republican. McCain not voting with his party every single time isn't this mortal sin.

Waiting to see the link of Sarah Palin defending John McCain against this attack by the GOP.

Carl Hayden was an AZ senator until he was in his 90's

It must be that hot, dry weather that keeps them going! I'll have to look into that possibility!

Greetings, beefheart. :2wave:

The censured McCain for "being too liberal", they should have censured him for being a complete dumbass re: Syria and trying to instigate a war that we had no business being involved with.

Syria, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq and any Foreign Policy.....Johnny Quest aint never got it Right 80 years old and still thinks he should stick around. The GOP needs to have a talk with him and tell him time for pasture Johnny. You just mosey along and stick to chewing that cud. That's the only time we want to see your mouth moving and don't let us hear you. Otherwise we going to help with your hearing aids.

Course he will fall back on playing he was a War hero......which is true. Doesn't mean he knows anything about dealing with those from overseas. As well as him not being an expert in tactics or strategy. Or really knowing anything about Command.

Let's see - on the one hand we have one guy - the Weiner Dog - making a fool of himself. On the other hand, we have an entire state political party - the Arizona Teapublicans - looking like complete morons. I'm not getting the 'logic' here.

Re: Arizona GOP censures McCain for 'liberal' record

I believe he (McCain) has been censured twice previously in Arizona. People have a short memory with McCain.
In 1987 McCain was involved in the Savings and Loan scandal along with four other Senators, on behalf of Charles Keating, (known as “The Keating five”) whose bank failed at a tune of $3 billion to the taxpayers. In 1991 McCain received a strong reprimand from the full U.S. Senate for his role in the scandal.
