If you cannot listen to constructive critics, you can never learn your own failings.... which is fine... You lose, because Conservatives and other non-Liberals CAN hear their own faults, and correct them.

Where that all falls apart is the part where you're assuming the video was constructive criticism. It wasn't.

Really? How would know? You didn't watch it!

I watched enough of it. You don't give constructive criticism by telling the person you're criticizing that they're the stupidest human being who has ever lived. That's criticism, but it certainly isn't constructive.

Maybe, just maybe, if you want to understand why the country is turning against the LEFT as shown in the 2014 elections... maybe you should watch the whole thing, and do so with an open and receptive mind!

Any valid criticism can be constructive, if the person/group being criticized is honest, introspective, and willing to change!

The comedian, as most comedians do, uses a slightly exaggerated view of a basic truth, to illustrate a point in a humorous way. When that basic truth isn't present, the humor fails, and that audience was definitely laughing!! I got a great chuckle out of it.

Maybe you should look again.

It doesn't have to be made illegal.

The Leftie only needs to choose to be "Offended" whenever some conservative or TEA Patriot speaks.

Then the PC machine steps in to "investigate" and decides the best action is "Diversity Training". Not because there was anything ever found to substantiate the accusation, or validate the "Offense", but just it is always best that everyone be shown again how to "Respectful"....

Then the conservative guy is workplace socially ostracized, loses the promotion, then a long-hard developed project, is eventually driven from the office with his career in tatters.

The Conservative NEVER did anything wrong, the Lefties just abused the power of the machine, and the tendency of our society to always see the White-male, or the Conservative, or the Christian, as WRONG, and Guilty, because they've been accused.

This is HOW the left has been allowed to operate for DECADES!

The Abuse of the PC Gotcha Machine is what should be made illegal!

The few small benefits gained by giving the Leftie complaints any credence in 2015, are not even worth the huge costs always paid for them, look at Baltimore!

In this era, when ever a Leftie gets offended, we should immediately start an investigation and retraining of the Leftie!

How else will the country even survive, rather than America end up one giant Detroit!

All of TRUTH in this video on this very subject!

Evan Sayet is brilliant. As a former liberal, he has insight that others might not have.

I'd argue you might learn something from listening to the clip. If nothing else, it might elucidate how others see the left.

This is the typical Progressive-Fascist response..."Nah, nah, nahhhhhhh, I won't hear you!", Sad, but common.

I oppose stupid speech, but there is still plenty of it and those who want to use it should be free to do so.

Perhaps you don't understand how this game is played.

As a "Dirty Rotten Racist Conservative" if you DARE to call a Liberal's comments "Stupid", that will be declared an example of "Hate Speech", and you will be BANNED from further comments....

There is no need to prove that your words were "Hate Speech", and even if you could PROVE that they were insightful, fact based, honest, and accurate analysis, the "Seriousness of the Charge of Hate Speech" justifies your being BANNED regardless.

Do you see how this works now?

Thank you for enlightening me.

I think our more extreme conservative colleagues might have a point. If hate speech was illegal, they wouldn't be allowed to talk!

Everybody should be allowed to talk. Even neo-cons.

Absolutely not. Speech is speech and we have a right to speak freely, guaranteed by the Constitution. The only exception I'm willing to make is in the case of advocating violence or violating legal agreements where you have pledged not to release government, corporate or personal secrets to the public. Otherwise, anything goes.

Would you support a law that would make it a crime to make public comments that advocate hatred of a particular group?

My thoughts TK.

While I wouldn't support hate speech, I wouldn't endorse a law that would make it illegal. You can't act out on it, you cannot advocate murder or anything, but just running off at the mouth should be tolerated. Otherwise we start to approach thought crimes and we should likely just stay away from that.

Seems reasonable.

So how did you vote?

LOL, how does one vote if the options are 'yes' or 'no' to the question of whether we support or oppose 'hate speech'? Of course everybody either supports or opposes it, but the options just didn't offer enough qualification to give a definitive 'yes or 'no'.

For instance I oppose and have a great deal of contempt for hate speech because it is stupid, ignorant, insensitive, cruel, and coarsens our common lives together.

But I support a person's right to use it without fear of government retaliation or an angry mob descending upon him/her to inflict physical or economic punishment.

So how do I answer your poll with such a qualified answer?

Well, Im to blame there, I worded the poll poorly, because I used the choices "remembered" by my browser.

I understand. Just teasing a bit. It is a good topic though and worthy of discussion.
