Are progressives purposely trying to start a race war?

You may have noticed the OP got no respect from me either. :)

If the OP would have cited somebody we knew better, like Limbpball, we'd have a better understanding of what the right has to say about proggies, wouldn't we? Why are these racist type things being posted on these forums here as of late?

The problem is the article is not true. It was originally meant as a satire which is being picked up as real news from echo chambers. I think it's sad this guy is now getting death threats for something he never said.

Perhaps you have forgotten about the 'occupy wall street' protests.......as well as democrat politicians and supporterss referring to African American conservatives as "Uncle Tom"?

OWS was racist? who knew?

It comes and goes in cycles, but honestly it never fails entirely. Some folks have to make a big deal out of race, either this way or that way, or throw the term "racist" around when there isn't any.

The right, hear something detrimental or disparaging, repeat several times, then it is truth and fact. Kind of like wash, scrub, rinse, repeat, over and over.

This place has the beginnings reminding me of why I left sh*tty data, that and staff bias.

OWS was racist? who knew?

Well,...then can I assume that you are admitting that the democrat rep calling US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Tom" is racist?
And shall we talk about the late Democrat Senator Robert Byrd and his KKK past?

You contend OWS was racist, back it up with something factual.

Don't assume anything, ever.

by the far righties for the past 5.5 years has now numbed some pretty decent people who call themselves conservatives, like you.
As a result, they desperately search for any possible bit of racism from the left, make a thread, and then demand we all go off another rail .

FFS, Watch the damned video... Talk about off base.

Actually the word you are looking for is Democratic rep, only sheep say Democrat for Democratic. But like some sheep you are right, anyone using the term Uncle Tom is racist.

And shall we talk about the late Democrat Senator Robert Byrd and his KKK past?
why that was decades ago, he changed and then was a leader in Congress..... or do you want to talk about the core of the GOP who use to all be Dixiecrats and racists?

I'll give you that one. OWS was radical and anarchistic...not necessarily racist.....now your comments on the Dem Rep calling Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Tom" please? And How about the late Senator Robert Byrd?

Well I am delighted that you admit the "uncle tom" label is racist. Many progressives just try to dodge that one....some even say it's not racist. As for
your question on dixiecrats.....have at it. I am not a member of the GOP. Be careful though.....most of the dixiecrats were democrats. As for Byrd, I don't care how far in the past that was. He was a racist until they buried him. And he was the only member of congress ever to hold membership in the KKK. And he did not change when he became a leader...he simply kept it mostly to himself for the sake of political expediency.

Really ... Where could this silly notion that there are racists in the tea party have ever come from????

Good, good, but not a record.

A thread about "progressives" gets a tea bagger entry at post #5...

You guys are slipping, but thanks for pointing out that on the hate/race question there is no difference between the "moderate" progressive and the extreme right. I might also mention how Obama, the first "black" president showed his true colors and heightened the race war instead of uniting the country. This incompetent swine is the most racist president in history.

It has been my experience that those who are quick to point a finger of judgement at others usually have a lot about themselves worthy of similar judgement, but then everything is "Bush's Fault" and you need not give that any consideration at all....

Maybe you didn't read my post carefully enough... I didn't say there was "going to be a race war", I merely posed the question to others. What I do believe however, is there are certainly a number of people at that "I hate whitey" conference that are doing there part to start one.

The level of hatred on display at that conference was chilling, and as long as people like yourself dismiss that hatred and refuse to take it seriously, it will continue to grow and one day might lead to wide spread violence and bloodshed.

That is a problem I have seen of the "progressive" movement, I don't know how many times I have been accused of being a "tea Bagger"...I do not understand how that reference to a homosexual practice is not edited by mods, but the Progressives like it for some reason. I find it disgusting.

Nonetheless, the point of "whether" a race was is moot since there already is one.

No, not outright firefights, but is there an issue today in the US that does not become one of race? A man is tried in Florida for manslaughter and the state fails to prove it's case; a president violated the unwritten rule about commenting on jury trials for fan the flames of division with "he could have been my son."

The president plays to his racial minority base at every opportunity; Mother's Day, and Michelle is chosen to give the annual message, her's is about women and children in......Nigeria, African people, while ignoring the plight of Asians and others, and one of suspicious timing.

Allowing for the great diversity here, Canada's record on a working multi-cultural society, from this perspective the US is far more racially divided than at any time in my history. I am far from the minority who feel it is safer to travel in Asia or Russia than Seattle or L.A., simply because we are white.

Yes the dixiecrats were democrats until civil rights and joined the GOP which welcomed racists.

As for Byrd, you know nothing about him if you think he was a racist when he died.

How's about unjustified.

I am sorry you are do delicate. But the story is that the early teaparties used the term and the left adopted it as a way to make fun of them.

Well this is a cheap and ignorant shot.

The president plays to his racial minority base at every opportunity; Mother's Day, and Michelle is chosen to give the annual message, her's is about women and children in......Nigeria, African people, while ignoring the plight of Asians and others, and one of suspicious timing.

Seriously? It is the biggest story of the week, I am sorry you don't understand the importance of it. Maybe you don't care about it.

you think Russia is safer that Seattle then you need to come back to reality.

I am not a conspiricy kind of guy at all, but after seeing some of the undercover video footage from the "White Privilege Conference" that was featured on Dana Loesch's new show, I'm beginning to question the motives of these progressive hate merchants.... Watch this clip and tell me what you all think:

Video link is dead.

How's about unjustified.

How about racist. He was in effect telling Clarence Thomas that he is a traitor for
choosing conservatism over liberalism. That all African Americans should think alike rather then think for themselves.

I'm not going there, with you, or anyone else.

Yes, because pictures of a few extremists can always be relied upon as an sure indicator of how millions of other people not pictured feel about things.

true, I remember a rally against a silly City of Cincinnati Gun law. I was coordinating the people. 99% were in business or business casual. Lots of three piece suits, etc. Who does the anti gun reporter try to interview? the one guy in a "kill em all, God will sort them out" t-shirt

a month later there is an anti gun rally most of the people look like OWS clowns and featured a lot of the same rabble that descended on a local clothing store to protest sales of furs. the same news reporter of course found some weepy woman whose son had been gunned down by another drug dealer.

this sort of stuff happens all the time

As for Byrd, you know nothing about him if you think he was a racist when he died.

Let me correct your urban legend:

" Which way did they go?

The strategy of the State’s Rights Democratic Party failed. Truman was elected and civil rights moved forward with support from both Republicans and Democrats. This begs an answer to the question: So where did the Dixiecrats go? Contrary to legend, it makes no sense for them to join with the Republican Party whose history is replete with civil rights achievements. The answer is, they returned to the Democrat party and rejoined others such as George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Lester Maddox, and Ross Barnett. Interestingly, of the 26 known Dixiecrats (5 governors and 21 senators) only three ever became republicans: Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms and Mills E. Godwind, Jr. The segregationists in the Senate, on the other hand, would return to their party and fight against the Civil Rights acts of 1957, 1960 and 1964. Republican President Dwight Eisenhower proffered the first two Acts."

As for Byrd.....much of his racism continued long after his alledged change of heart. And he publicly used the term "nigger" as late as the 1990s. I saw nothing that strongly suggested that his claim of change was based on anything more then political expediency.
