Arctic ice cap 'to disappear in future summers' - Yahoo! News

Studies like this prove there is some level of global warming occurring in the world. What isn't proven is if this global warming is due to human interventions or just the natural cycle of the planet.

It will be interesting to see exactly what effect the melting of the polar ice caps has on world wide weather and if those climate changes can in fact be linked back to he melting.

Ignorant people like Al Gore and most every Granold Liberal believe their own hoax.

2009: Coldest U.S. summer in recent history; 300 low-temp records set
2009: Coldest U.S. summer in recent history; 300 low-temp records set

The Inconvienent Truth is Al Gores Movie was band by hudge in UK unless it is pointed out that there are 11 major lies within it. So if you want to make a point about the hoax of man caused Global Warming learn to read the fascts and truth before you open your mouth. This hoax has nothing to do what ever with Global Warming and everything to do control and putting power in the hands of the Leftists who don't give a damn about the planet.

^^^^^ Here we go again. :doh

It's amazing to me how the same recycled crap makes it's way through. Councilman, you've been had. That article is a piece of misleading garbage.

BTW, what does the summer of 2009 in the US have to do with global temperatures???

Interesting. I can't seem to find the "facts" he mentioned in his article. The NOAA website he mentions states the below. for June and August of 2009...

# The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for August 2009 was 0.62°C (1.12°F) above the 20th century average of 15.6°C (60.1°F). This is the second warmest such value on record, behind 1998. August 2009 was the 31st consecutive August with an average global surface temperature above the 20th century average. The last August with global temperatures below the 20th century average occurred in 1978.
# The seasonal (June-August 2009) worldwide ocean surface temperature was also the warmest on record, 0.58°C (1.04°F) above the 20th century average of 16.4°C (61.5°F).
# In the Southern Hemisphere, both the August 2009 average temperature for land areas, and the Hemisphere as a whole (land and ocean surface combined), represented the warmest August on record.

State of the Climate | Global Analysis | August 2009

That's quite a contradiction from what the article writer says the report states.

In any case before you go jump off a cliff with your Gore/Liberal hyperbole I personally believe any warming and cooling is not of affected by human intervention and is just a natural cycle of the planet.

I have been waiting for a long time to have a rational discussion of how much/little the warming is caused by man. Unfortunately, it seems that we can't get past those who ignore the simple fact that the planet is warming, and have been debating that instead.

Misleading is that Kanuckstani Hockey Stick model; you know, the one that spewed the same catastrophic result regardless of the numbers inserted.

Misleading is the report NASA had corrected by a 13-year old.
The one that said the last decade was the warmest. Wrong... for that you now have to go to the 1930's.

Misleading is ALgore, and his Michael Moore styled movie.
The one people can't ask questions about, but the schools have no trouble force feeding malleable minds.

They had record early snow in Idaho, Chicago, Austria, Bavaria, ...and Colorado got some too. I really wish global warming would accelerate a little... Am doing my part... working daily to have a carbon footprint as big as ALgore.

Reminds me to have staff call Execujet.

.

The world is warming. All of the above does not negate the fact that the world is warming.

Period.

Then, why are they getting thicker?

Fortunately the deniers are a fringe minority and global policy is already slowly going into place to try and minimize impacts on climate.

I do feel that it's already too late though.

Then, why are they getting thicker?

The theory is that warmer air carries more moisturizer and thus more snow and rain fall. This leads the colder higher altitudes (the areas measured by satellites) to thicken while the outer sea level areas melt.

Global Warming can cause short term cooling.

And, our fredoms are being flush down the toilet on the other end.

The argument gets lamer and lamer all the time.

The temperature of the ocean has a direct affect on the world's climate. If billions of almost freezing water is dumped into the ocean by global warming melting ice floes it will impact parts of the world with cooler climates as a result of the now cooler water being moved by the ocean currents throughout the world.

It's ok. Just ignore science though. It's all just make believe black magic.

Science used to say that the world is flat, too.

What are you going to tell us next? Melting icebergs will cause oceans to rise?

Arctic Sea Ice Increases at Record Rate Watts Up With That?

Opps..........

*winston scratches head* when did science ever say the world was flat?

You're not seriously asking that question, are you?

In the first half of the 19th Century, doctors believed that infections were caused by a noxious vapor in the air. the point? Sometimes science is full of ****.

Actually, it's cooling. The ice caps are thickening. And the Polar Bear population is increasing.

But carry on. Never let facts get in the way of a good Boogie Man story.

Got it... beings it is getting cooler proves it is getting warmer.

Uhhhh.... I don't get it.

Media reports on coldest/warmest are regionally subjective. You need to look at the overall data. I'll even use your same source.

And science has become directly positioned behind movements that lead to grants and political power.

There is no science to global warming. Just politics.
