Applebee's, Golden Corral, M&S salute vets with free food
Applebee's, Golden Corral, M&S salute vets with free food - USATODAY.com
For all the forgettable Veterans Day sales, there's a trio of free-meal deals for military veterans that speak not just to the heart but the stomach.
Three major casual-dining chains —Applebee's, McCormick & Schmick's and Golden Corral— are offering free food to veterans and, in most cases, active-duty military personnel in observance of Veterans Day. (The official holiday is Wednesday.)
Right on.... I don't do chains, but I greatly appreciate this gesture..... hat off to these stand up companies.
:ind: I personally think this is a very nice gesture on the part of these businesses. I am how ever astonished that the Neo-National Socialist Obama worshiping America bashing Leftist Granola Liberals have left the subject alone for over 6 hours without the usual claims of how this points out how the Right is in league with business to give a pat on the back to and support of the viscous war mongers in the Military.
Or could it be that since the elections on Tuesday and then the despicably distasteful, insensitive, spectacle Obama made of himself after the Muslim terrorist attack at Ft. Hood backing his Anti-American views has lot some of it's appeal.
I for one salute those who Salute and honor our brave Citizens in Uniform in all branches of the military and add to that list my own thanks to the men and women of our police forces who put it on the line every day for us and face the worst in our society to protect us against all forms of lawlessness.
:memorial_
Thanks for injecting partisanship into this thread.
More companies should do stuff like this. My wife always buys her guests' dinner when they come in in uniform.
Sadly since shortly after Jan. 1993 when stories about the alleged corruption of Bill & Hillary Clinton and most of those around them were tied to a great number of questionable shenanigans including White Water and the Mena Arkansas Airport the number so-called Arkansides and more partisan politics has been a part of everything the Republicans and Democrats have done. The resentment by the Dims (no spell error) was so great over the perceived injustices dealt Clinton that at the first sign of a misstep by George Bush the Dims returned the favor of venomous relentless partisanship. And like the Republicans before them they had a few valid points to make. Hell George W. wa in some ways hilarious to watch and listen to and he came up with some of the best quotes ever, like becoming the "decider". He also did some things like the invasion of Iraq that far exceeded a mere misstep, and many Republicans were perplexed and upset over it. It was about that time I decided the Republican party in defending Bush lost all my support and they left me at that point.
Now we are faced with someone who has no respect for the Constitution has resounded himself with Radicals, Marxists, Socialist, Mao loving, Anti_Americans, and convicted criminals.
This makes the situation today far more serious than mere partisanship. It has become mater of survival of the Nation as it was intended as it came into being 233 years ago. Those who today call themselves Democrats have been consumed in the euphoria of victory like a mod after the victory of a sports team losing touch with reality and following the leader of the mod into things they normally would never have considered on their own. Then once caught up in it defend it in an effort to save face or something I couldn't possibly hope to explain.
What is being mistaken as partisanship Republican Vs Democrat has become a fight between Right and Wrong. The labels may need to be adjusted and or changed at this point.
By the way thank your wife for what she does in respect for those in Uniform. It's a wonderful thing.
