I have a Nokia with Android One and I'm not impressed with it, despite Android One being touted as the best version. Andoid 12 is not an improvement.

I have only ever owned Samsung Galaxy S series Android phones and at this point I don't plan on switching.

One thing I will say in Apple's favor is that I love their podcast ecosystem more than any alternative.

All that being said, I have a lot of friends who have iphone and swear by em.

I used to hate Apple, until I began using their products.

Now I will never change back. The synch between all devices is flawless.

Me:
iMac
iPad Pro
iPhone Pro 13
AirPods Pro
Watch

Wife:
Mac Pro
Macbook
iPhone 13 Pro
AirPods Pro
Watch

I can NEVER go back. I LOVE Apple now. It's absolutely seamless.

I am not a believer in the Cult Of Jobs.

im an enginener and i have had both, ive have not bought an apple in a long time but i have gotten them for company phones just as recent as a few years ago

i much prefer android, i just prefer the freedom and flow and ability to make it do what i want instead of what apple wants

now with that said an apple phone is a VERY solid product it may be usually behind in tech and i have issue with the apple company but its a solid product and geared more towards people that dont know tech and arent going to learn any

but their goal to make money and deceitful marketing etc while brilliant (since it accomplishes its goal) is shitty and they shit on their customers IMO
i find some of their propaganda insulting since im not a tech dummy

I studied industrial design and then moved laterally to mechanical design in college. I feel the same way about Apple. I have never owned an Apple product but I do appreciate their design signature. It is very marketing driven and planned obsolescence is at the core. Some people like their sleek design and their easy to use interfaces.

I found Android easy to learn. I spend my days working on my Thinkapad or a custom workstation with Solidworks, CATIA, and either ANSYS or ABAQUS.

yep, apple is brilliant at what it does but since im not ignorant i just dont fall for it

there are people today that still think apple invented the smartphone and mp3 player lol
and thats all due to apple's marketing . . hell i remmebr when they used to advertise that their computers were virus "proof" SMH

Apple is evil, and their products are horrible.

Only unix, linux, android, no mac or ms in my life with the exception of a few friends who occasionally need help getting their computer working, though most are now using a linux based OS.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and an iPhone 11 that I use daily. There's no both option.

I have MAC computers, used to have an iPhone, I've been running androids (Samsungs) for about 7 years.
My next phone when I replace this a10E will be back to iPhone.
Apple products are a cut above imo, but it took me a minute to really appreciate them. Apple is a higher quality and very feature rich imo, I have a MAC computer that is 11 years old and still working. I have an iPad that is 12 year old and still works. I can no longer update it because the hardware is so old it wont take any new software, but it will still function as it is.
I have never had other products last like that for me anyway, I'll blow through a cheaper machine in 2 years.

For me, personal privacy is my first and top priority in mobile computing devices - particularly for my family. Apple being unrivaled in this space, I have long opted for their devices. No regrets.

I readily acknowledge that I can get a device that looks fancier, is less expensive, or has bigger numbers on the box, in exchange for Google monitoring and monetizing me. I also have no issues with the many millions of people who prefer to be monetized accordingly.

Can a Mod add a "both" option? The edit window has closed, so I can't do it.

I just switch from my Google Pixel 4 XL to an iPhone 14 Pro and no regrets after three Pixels. Everything just seems to work better from individual apps having more features on iOS to it syncing with my iPad. My only complaint is the keyboard.

I have a mid-2011 iMac in the garage that still runs fine. I use it for music, pod casts, and the occasional google search when I'm painting or woodworking.

Free yourself from Android. I always thought I-Phone OS was for dummies. I was fooling myself.

Palm... (2 models, 7 years)

and then Android, for 14 years combined. Never owned an Apple PC or laptop but used an Apple G3 desktop owned by my live-in partner,
1998 - 2001. I was a business owner with ten years experience at that time administering my own Novell-MS-Dos network server and ethernet
work stations with Windows 95 for internet browsing.

I was surprised how freeze-free the Apple G3 was in comparison but I've stayed with what I know from my first Windows 95 laptop in 1997 to my
fifth one, Lenovo Windows 10 in 2019.

In 2016 my son gave my wife his I-Phone 7 when he purchased an I-Phone 8 and I soon accidentally dropped my HTC Hero, shattering the screen.
I was impressed with the stability of the I-Phone 7 and ease of use compared to my four years with the buggy HTC Android OS.

I can tell you I was a hold out and the last 5 years have gone so reliably with two I-Phones (an 11, since I dropped the 8 on concrete early last year)
I had almost forgotten all the annoyance and time and attention I had expended getting the most out of my Android experience.

I highly recommend I-Phone. Set it and forget it. I'm still too cheap to switch to an Apple computer but my son has had great satisfaction
with Apple laptops for a dozen years. They really hold their value and are economically upgradable after the high up front cost.

Part 2,

If you're geeky enough, watch some of this 1992 Steve Jobs lecture from the 8:00 minute mark. Uncannily, he predicts the shakeout of the computer device industry, naming Sun Micro Systems as the only real competitor in the competition of ideas as well as why they will not succeed but he will.
He lays out why productivity, enhanced by a superior user experience can only be the result of products engineered by a company in complete control of both hardware and OS design and manufacturing. I was surfing youtube a few months ago intending to watch music videos but detoured,
intending to watch only a few minutes of young Steve but he grabbed my attention for more than an hour. Brilliant, passionate, prescient. It helped that I had just seen an interview on Bloomberg TV of a biographer who was granted access to Steve as he was dying. I had never liked him, that has changed! Adopted, he found his birth mother later in life and he encountered his biological father at hi father's S.F. restaurant but did not introduce himself, after learning his father was also indifferen to his other children.

Buying anything Apple is like buying a nice muscle car....except that the hood is locked, and you can never ever tweak the engine.

Oh, and you paid entirely too much for crap.

My iPhone works. I can make calls, pay my bills, and browse with ease. Is it necessary for it to give me a blowjob too?

Iphones are overpriced, they cost more now than my first used car.

I have a price point of 500usd, lots of choice to be had for that price. I recently purchased a Galaxy A52, thus far I am satisfied.

That's an accessory I have not seen, but if you find one it would replace many wives.

My opinion is that phones stopped meaningfully improving past the iPhone 8 (that’s around 2018, if I remember correctly). If I hadn’t destroyed the casing of that phone, I’d still be using it today and I’d be perfectly happy with it.

At this point, phone manufacturers are struggling to find meaningful new improvements to justify buying new phones at all.

I don't do Apple.

Tim Cook and Apple have created a toxic environment with their App Store tax (Apple Tax) and oppression.

Apple is protected for now because Tim Cook is a popular guy in D.C. and Apple is the #1 stock owned by congress but Apple's time will come.

Also, shouldn't Lina Kahn investigate and stop Apple's monopoly on App stores instead of trying to block Amazon from buying Rumba and Meta from buying a start-up VR app?

Hmmm.. I wonder why the FTC doesn't investigate Apple.

If Steve Jobs were alive today, he would be very disappointed and ashamed of what Apple has become. A greedy money hungry company that hasn't innovated anything.
