I don't see the problem. Vandalizing monuments in your own country over something on the other side of the planet has always been a solution to such problems. Works 0% of the time  every time! 😉

Objecting to her degree of concern, implied that you are less concerned about this vandalism - which you now admit that you are.

There are degrees of vandalism....like there are degrees of murder.

Vandalize a 2014 Hyundai is vandalism of one degree...but there are lots of 2014 Hyundais on the road.

The Liberty Bell in Philly is an American cultural and historical icon. Like the Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor.

They can be duplicated, but not replaced.

Ergo, vandalizing the Liberty Bell in Philly or the Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor is waaaaayyyy worse than vandalizing the model of the Liberty Bell called the Freedom Bell in Washington, DC.

That’s much like saying it was somewhat bad that someone (mad at Israel) broke your leg, but it could have been worse if they broke both of your legs and also blinded you.

In most cases, mimicking their rhetoric grants it a credibility it really doesn't deserve and potentially contributes to a public perception of equivalency between 'both sides.'

I think(?) that's the sort of thing that @Queen Margo was probably aiming for, trying to 'turn around' Trump's support for those who attacked the Capitol by trying to create a desperately strained equivalency with... I mean... with Harris and this bell...? Hard to say, really.

It's not anything like it.

But, it is, in fact, much worse to have two broken legs and be blinded from an attack rather than just having a broken leg.

And the legal system - and juries - recognize the difference between 2x broken legs and blinding vs. broken leg....in both civil and criminal law.

More to the point, it's waaaayyyy worse if it's the President of the US that's attacked suffering two broken legs and being blinded than just an "average Joe" in Versailles, MO --- or, so, we act that way at least.

The one is national news because it's the President....the other MAY make the local news.

You've spent half a dozen posts trying to make a mountain out out of someone posting relevant information to the thread. It may be that the "heartbroken" tweeter cited by the OP thought that it was the Liberty Bell, or that they hoped some fraction of readers would think it was the Liberty Bell. I was wondering about that myself and was a tad confused when someone else said it was in DC. Why are you objecting so strenuously and making up such stupid strawmen over the fact that some more relevant information was provided?
 
Agreed with others. Arrests, fines, and cleaning it all up is in order here. But this is DC we are talking about, no one will do anything to those responsible.

Yeah.... But it's the greatest cultural cesspool on the planet! Maybe Kamala and the entire Neo-Leftist movement can give up on trying to save democracy since they obviously have no idea what it even is, and instead start with the new narrative of "We have to save our cultural cesspool!!!"
 
The good news is, this insanity is only going to get about 10X worse over the next few years if Harris is installed, and about 1000X worse if Trump wins. Relax. Don't Worry, Be Happy!!
