Where I live, everyone wears a mask in public without the need for reminders.

Lay off of the Guardian/the Daily Mirror. You don't live here, and you don't really know why someone has chosen not to wear a mask outdoors while still maintaining six feet of social distancing. Read the damn thread, and stop mangling the thread topic for your own political agenda.

The only thing that I have started wearing since this COVID-19 nonsense began is my sidearm. Leftist filth are pushing masks and social distancing like the 1930s German NAZIs were pushing the Star of David. It is their symbol of terror, and they want to be certain to inflict that fear on everyone.

I have never worn a mask. So far only one leftist freak told me to put on a mask, and that was because she hadn't seen my sidearm yet. When I turned to face her she saw my holstered firearm, shut her gaping hole, and walked away. I didn't have to say a word.

I don't play these leftist games. We all know masks and social distancing do absolute nothing, except to promote leftist fearmongering.

Nota I'm sure you've read enough of my posts to make up your own mind. You also left off the last part of what I wrote. I don't want anyone to die from covid but it seems some folks just won't learn unless they catch it. Maybe you think that's cruel. I think it's cruel to not wear a mask during a pandemic especially with flu season starting.

The wearing of a mask to prevent the spread of Covid-19 has no similarity to the wearing of the Star of David in Nazi Germany which was not related to public health and was meant to distinguish Jews from the Aryan population.

It should be illegal in all states.
 
Wearing a mask is a minimum inconvenience which slows the spread of Covid-19 and puts people around you at a little more rest when they have to interact with you. A small annoyance which pays big dividends for the society around you. Washing hands, physical distancing and disease related street smarts are equally important. Seems reasonable to me.

Of course it does. Masks serve the exact same purpose as the Star of David in NAZI Germany - too out those who refuse to comply. The Star of David arm band and patches from 1930s Germany have one more thing in common with masks worn today - they are both equally ineffective against COVID-19.

By that dubious reasoning you should not wear clothes, say hello to people you pass or behave differently at work in contrast to when you're with friends as these are all complying with societal norms. The mask is not a symbol, it is a barrier which slows the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virion. When you wear a mask you help others. When Jews wore a Star of David they were hurting themselves, not that they had any choice in the matter. Wearing a clean mask does not hurt you in the least unless you have respiratory problems. In such a case a doctor will write you permission to not wear a mask which you can show to anyone who challenges your going about unmasked. Attempting to equate mask wearing in a pandemic to Star of David wearing during a holocaust is daft, dishonest and trivialises the gravity of the attempted genocide of the Jews of Europe and parts of Africa/the Middle East.
