ANSWERS TO ATHEIST NONSENSE

Day 2 of 10 straight days over 100. Damn Vegas weather. Toaster indeed. Climate denialists will come to their senses eventually.
And they do what exactly? What's your plan? Think you're far too busy encouraging abortion rights, gay right rights, anti creationist picketing and making light of Christians to do a thing. And maybe GOD is more involved in climate change that will become more apparent as time moves on,

Revelation Chapter 8:6-13
6Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them. 7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. 8The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood. 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water--11the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter. 12The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night. 13As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"

Oh, I'm sorry --- all of that is just made up and will never happen... Pretend things don't happen...

An imaginary god does not have anything to do with the climate or the temperature on any given day in any place on earth.

Yes, that is all made up. It is a crazy story in a book.

Wutz?

I'm busy staying cool. I have no idea what that babble means.

It was 98 at game time last night. It'll be over 100 at tonight's game.

The Aces won their 10th in a row.

Hell yeah.

Trumpets. Louis Armstrong played trumpet.

Revelation is fable, at absolute best. It means nothing with regards to reality. Nobody really believes that garbage, do they?

Believed and accepted as fact by crazy people apparently.

It is the most obvious use of symbolic writing in the Bible yet some believers cherry pick parts out of it as if they are literally true. The JW organization takes the symbolic 144,000 literally. It is one of the foundations of their belief system.

The JW also believe that trinitarian Christians are following/practicing a false religion.

Which means that is all up to the individual. So there can be no definitive belief regarding the divinity of this particular historical human being and there is no definitive version of Christianity. Everyone makes it up in the way they prefer. There is no risk at all, because there is no objective answer to the question and it doesn’t really matter what anyone believes. So why have a religion based on this human being at all?
Yeah, there are some things up for interpretation if that's what you mean.

No it isnt a mess, your comprehension seems to be lacking
And no there isnt unanimity on God now
That is why there are so many different versions of Christianity
Pretty much unanimous is not unanimous, thanx for agreeing with me
Just so I'm clear.

There was substantial unanimity on the deity of Christ pre Nicene, and
The is substantial unanimity of the deity of Christ post Nicene, yet
Nicene changed the deity of Christ somehow?

Is that right?

Yeah, there are some things up for interpretation if that's what you mean.

“Some things”? Practically the entirety of the Bible is open to “interpretation”. That is why, as David has said, there is so much division within the cults of the Christian religion. Very few items in the Bible are no “open to interpretation “.

Not true, when scripture is compared to scripture on any given subject...here is only one example...

What, though, did Jesus mean when he said, “I and the Father are one”? J. H. Bernard, D.D., states in A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Gospel According to St. John:

“A unity of fellowship, of will, and of purpose between the Father and the Son is a frequent theme in the Fourth Gospel . . . , and it is tersely and powerfully expressed here; but to press the words so as to make them indicate identity of ousia [Greek for “substance,” “essence”], is to introduce thoughts which were not present to the theologians of the first century.”—Compare John 5:18, 19; 14:9, 23; 17:11, 22.

The teaching that Jesus is coequal and coeternal with God has no foundation in the inspired Scriptures. From start to finish it is evidence of Christendom’s borrowing from the Greek philosopher Plato.

The Bible was not written all at the same time as a bunch of writings to compare to each other. And this still involves interpretation as to what makes comparison the litmus test for what interpretation is correct. It is still a method of interpretation, not an objective test at all.

Wrong...the writers wrote what God inspired them to write...the writings on any subject all harmonize when considered together...cherry picking is where people make the mistake and end up with false doctrines...

The writers were inspired by God? WTF does that mean? Humans can rationalize anything.

People burned to death by God

What does Genesis 19:24 mean?

Finally the Lord's judgment falls on Sodom and Gomorrah. By the literal words of this verse the Lord Himself rains sulfur and fire on these cities "out of heaven." There's no question that Genesis means to communicate that this fire and brimstone came directly from the Lord as His judgment against the people of these cities for their grave sins.

  1. God burned and smashed the people in Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone from heaven.
The LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven. Genesis 19:24

Not wrong. The writers wrote things to the people of the time with no idea that any of their writings would someday be gathered into one collection and others would then falsely interpret them to back their various beliefs. None of them harmonized at all, that is just a subjective interpretation. There is no objective measure of harmony at all.

Just so you are clear there was NOT unanimity on Jesus pre Nicaea
There was NOT unanimity on Jesus post Nicaea
Nicaea tried to IMPOSE a consensus

Exactly. Like I said, Nicaea didn't change anything.

I think we're finally getting somewhere.
