Another reason to never trust a Cop.

This is one of the dumbest posts I ever read, and thats quite saying something for this forum.

You are just saying that because I am winning.

Generally speaking cops never leave their gun inside the car. Its always kept in their holster.

Yes. I know. That was not the argument though. The argument is CAN THEY leave their gun in their car. The answer is yes. They can and do.

And rifles are not guns. Thats why they have a different name.

Pistols are not guns either.

That is why they have a different name.

The only reason cops leave rifles inside their car is because they are too bulky to carry

And now you admit they can leave their gun in their car.

And you are talking about stupid posts? LOL

But you were insinuating that its common cops leave their handgun inside the car, and thats not true

Incorrect. For ****'s Sake. Do you even read my posts first?

No. I never insinuated or suggested or even indicated, ever, that it was common for cops to do so. In fact, I have not even used the term "handgun" in this thread. Here is how ridiculous your posts have been.

Looks like this debate is over.

Question: do cops ever leave their service gun inside their car unattended??

Generally, police officers are not supposed to leave their service weapons unattended in their vehicles. Most departments require officers to secure their firearms at the police station or bring them home. Leaving a gun unsecured, even in a vehicle, can lead to disciplinary action or even criminal charges for negligent storage.
Agency Policies:
Most police agencies have strict policies prohibiting officers from leaving their service weapons unattended in their vehicles.

  • Secure Storage:
Officers are typically required to store their firearms in a secure location, such as the police station or at home.

  • Risk of Theft and Misuse:
Leaving a firearm unsecured, even in a vehicle, creates a risk of theft and potential misuse, which is why it is generally prohibited.

  • Consequences for Negligence:
Leaving a firearm unsecured can lead to disciplinary action for the officer, and in some cases, criminal charges for negligent storage.

  • Exceptions:
While generally prohibited, there may be rare exceptions in specific situations, such as in very rural areas or when transporting a firearm for specific purposes, but these are usually highly controlled

Question: do cops ever leave their service gun inside their car unattended??

Thanks

Generally, police officers are not supposed to leave their service weapons unattended in their vehicles.

So they can... and they do leave their rifle and shotgun in the car, unattended, every day.

Thanks

Yes, of course they leave larger rifles and shotguns in their car. Kinda hard to wear those in your holster
They only take those out in extreme circumstances when necessary (which is pretty rare).

But for the most part they're not allowed to leave their guns inside the car.
It would also be very foolish to do so.

I hope this clears it up for you.

All three are guns...

LOL.

gun, weapon consisting essentially of a metal tube from which a missile or projectile is shot by the force of exploding gunpowder or some other propellant.

Guns also include such military small arms as the musket, rifle, machine gun, and pistol, as well as such nonmilitary sport firearms as the shotgun.

Too easy...
