Angry furloughed federal workers protest shutdown at the White House, around the country

Remember folks... this shutdown started when the GOP owned the house so:

1) The GOP Senate voted UNANIMOUSLY
2) The GOP House refused to vote, causing shutdown
3) The Dem House passed the Senate bill
4) The GOP Senate refuses to even bring it to a vote.

This shutdown is ENTIRELY on Trump, McConnell, & the GOP. Not Dems.​

Might be hurting you but me and my co workers are grateful for the unexpected paid time off. The pay 'crisis' exists primarily in the minds of the media who then pass that opinion on to you. Fake news.

Haven't you gotten it yet? Nobody who voted for Trump is upset. In fact, hes fulfilling a campaign promise to build a wall, so we're happy, shutdown or not. The only ones desperate to assign blame are the haters. Who hate him no matter what he does.

IOW, nobody who counts cares.

You think a wall will "seal the border"? Are you aware that people will go over (see: ladder), under (see: tunnels that already exist), and around (see: boats) any wall you build? A territorial border cannot be sealed. Furthermore, considering that most illegal immigration is not perpetrated by demon brown people walking through the desert, what is the plan to address it at the northern border and at any given airport in the country?

You don't speak for government workers. Even if you are going to lie about how you are one. These folks are missing bills. They aren't going out and its hurting local economies. People who understand economics knows better than to buy your lie.

Speak for yourself. There's nothing fake about 420,000 government employees expected to report to work without pay.

Since the Federal Government does not produce any money to pay those employees and is dependent on tax payers dollars.

They would not have those jobs or paychecks if not for the taxes paid by the many private sector workers and businesses .

One of the drawbacks to working for the Federal Government is that sometimes shut downs happen, not very often but they do happen.

However, They do eventually get fully compensated for those with held paychecks.

Granted they need to wait but that is one of the drawbacks due to the fact that they work for a Government that uses shut downs.

Private sector jobs also have drawbacks but I don't think those problems include being fully compensated for wages lost.

Private sector workers need to go job hunting when those drawbacks happen.

Now to get back to the real heart of this matter.

He had his chance to fulfill his campaign promises and did diddly-squat. Now that he's missed that chance he wants the Democrats to do it.
Next up- shut down the government until the Democrats repeal and replace Obamacare.

Obviously we will see what happens, but I am very curious on why government employees and contractors who are not being paid are so passive in the face of their abuse. Maybe they are thinking "Surely this will be fixed soon, and than I will get paid, and the last month(s) will turn into paid vacation on top of my regular vacation" but this betrays a lack of interest in the work getting done...the same thing that I recently jammed the D leadership for....plus I am not completely sure that this time like the other times they will get paid for the time that they did not work during a shut-down.....this could turn into basically unemployed time.

They really should step up, take this more seriously, and vocalize how this lack of leadership in Washington is harming the nation.

Because you see right now they are kinda making the traditional R case that government employees are not needed and are sucking up tax revenues for no good reason, that they should be cut....which is certainly wrong in my opinion and smart well meaning people would not play into that.

Its like the grasshopper and the ant. Most plan for such an event since its happened before. Some dont plan and have to come up a Plan B. Uber is always hiring and they qualify for unemp and foodstamps. The biggest victims are the sheeple who believe everything theyre told.
