Its not a fake. Large birds of prey will go after prey that they know they cant carry off but will drop them
from heights that will injure them and then they'll finish them off.

I've read stories where power workers have found small deer in the powerlines to be the source of outages. The
y working theory is that eagles snatched them up and then dropped them since, you know, deer are not known for their pole climbing techniques.
Some vultures have been known to go after babies.

In 1973 the US Fish and Wildlife Service on the request and paid for by the American Sheep herders Association conducted a test in South Dakota and in Wyoming wherein a trained bald eagle was to catch and fly off with a newborn lamb. The objective was that the Shepards wanted to prove it could be done so they could get money from the government for thier losses.
It failed. MIserably. The eagle (a full grown male) could not take off after catching a mock lamb which the shepards had desgned and the USFWS had weighed to insure it was the same weight.
Several studies after that concluded that a bald or Golden Eagle is incapable of performing such an action.
FYI
If you watch this vid all the way through you'll see it flew just fine with the mountain goat.
Of course it did. Again how can something with hollow bones weighing about 4 or 5 pounds to this? Please provide a scientific explanation to justify your assertion.
BTW ALiens have captured my cat.
Craze on youtube right now.
An Eagle Appears To Steal A Toddler (Or Not)
I've heard of this happening before and it generally tends to end the same. Too heavy to carry for a bird.
