I believe that the country wouldn't have been improved by remaining a colony. For better or worse the U.S. has a certain culture of independence & violence. How do you feel the empire would have handled slavery, we already know how they handled the Native Peoples.
Any answer would be pure speculation.
What do you think would have been better for Austria, after WWII, annexing by the British Lion or the Russian Bear? Other...

Well I'm sure not "unhappy" with my 100% FREE Socialist BidenCare™ plan Friend!
Standard of living is doing pretty well, no complaints there.
Just looking for a LOT more sanity in the firearms laws, maybe some Universal Education. I've already been there done that, had to go $50K in debt for my college degrees which I actually paid back. Thats why I want to see young Americans be able to avoid what I went through, and enjoy Euro-Socialism right here in the States!

The USA has sort of become the Kentucky of the developed world, and its pretty shameful and embarrassing. We can do better with Socialism IMO.

Should be noted that we in Europe don’t have Euro-Socialism.

I never called anyone a socialist, I was responding to the poor, misguided poster’s desire to live in a socialist state.

Second, just because someone doesn’t like a solution that you prefer, that doesn’t mean they never work for solutions. I strongly suspect any solution I proposed for a given situation would be met by you blocking it.

Trump didn’t turn the US into a Putin puppy state (whatever that is). I didn’t vote for him, but let’s keep the hyperbole to a minimum, if you’re capable.

Bottom line is the US is the greatest country in the world. We have our problems and we’re not perfect, but there is more opportunity for people to succeed here than anywhere else in the world, It’s too bad some don’t see it that way, but there’s room for them here too.
