So I see that you and Sen. Allen are of equal standing when it comes to belittling a young man of color that you've never met, know nothing about and are OK with using a racial slur to demean him. Why am I not in the least surprised?TurtleDude said:I will be honest, I really don't care why he called that loser a "Macaca".
I'm sure you would it fits your style to a tee. The mere fact that you could be accepting of organizations that promote racism and segregation sounds to me exactly what the stereotypical Republican would write. You're exactly what I thought you are....TurtleDude said:I will vote for someone who associates with alleged "racists" who supports sound policies over some one who is a leftist any day.
Nothing like a good racial slur to make yourself feel better when push comes to shove huh Dude? It takes a mighty small mind to rationalize when it's OK to use a racist remark in one's life...versus what most Americans believe, that it is NEVER OK no matter the circumstances.TurtleDude said:I got mugged by a black once-I might have used the N word in describing the person to a friend. Doesn't mean I treat blacks badly or judge them differently than Whites, Asians or Hispanics.

As you know by reading my posts my point is that the only reason Allen is even in a tight race is his continous blundering and his inability to take ownership for his own words. Had he had any intelligence he would have admitted his faux pas' and moved on, not deny his words, spin his words and make things worse.
Do you know what he said the other day after he was "forced" to admit his Mom is Jewish?

Now how fuc%in' stupid is that remark? How intollerant is it? Was this said decades ago? It was said on September 19, 2006. This is the difference between Byrd and Allen. Byrd's stuff is ancient history, Allen's crap is making history today.
If he actually loses this election I think it would go down as one of the great choke jobs of all times. The only way he loses is if he beats himself, and he will only have himself to blame...Do you disagree?
Do you think any half way intelligent politician would say:
"I still had a ham sandwich for lunch. And my mother made great pork chops."
He said this after denying in a public debate his mother was Jewish which we now know was a lie. He lied. He got busted and instead of being humble he said:
"I still had a ham sandwich for lunch. And my mother made great pork chops."
He has to rank as one of the stupidest campaigners for re-election to the Senate of all time....Who knows maybe we Democrats will be given a gift in Virginia?

I'm off the school that one's true feelings come to the surface when under pressure...and you just told us you're OK with calling someone the "N" word if they do something that hurts you....Is that you're "Eye for an Eye" way of lviing one's life?
You're quite a guy....
What is the "Southern Heritage" you refer to if it doesn't include racism. The Confederacy fought for independence for a number of sociopolitical reasons, but high on that list was the enslavement of blacks. I just don't see how you can use the Confederate flag as a symbol of the South without seeing it as a symbol of racism.Caine said:Im offended that people equate the Confederate flag (A symbol of southern heritage) as a symbol of racism.
I disagree, here's why. Even if it was a "joke" it follows the pattern that has emerged in the last month. He laughed at Sidartha with his racial slur, then he made 4 or 5 different explanations for that "joke." Then he lied about his mother's religion and sloughed off that lie with another "joke."RightatNYU said:Uh, Champs? I'm pretty sure that was a joke. A quip. A light-hearted remark.
I've never seen someone get so worked up over such a mild statement. You call the fact that he stated that he was not raised Jewish and that he happens to eat pork "intolerant?"
It's just another tempest in a teacup that dems will whip themselves into a frenzy about, despite the fact that 96% of VA couldn't care less.

THe ONLY reason any of this is an issue is ALLEN's BIG MOUTH and his SMALL BRAIN. Webb has been given gift after gift by Allen...I for one am grateful for his "Gifts" because he made what should have been a romp into a really tight race that Allen might actually lose.
One thing is for sure, any Presidential hopes he had for 2008 have completely disappeared.
I realize you have reading comprehension issues NP so perhaps you need to read my posts several times to prevent yourself from responding with nonsensical, one sentence, inaccurate untruths?Navy Pride said:Your desperate Champs, you can't win on the issues so you resort to character assasination............sad.............

Those who are not from theouth wouldn't understand.

IF you had actually read and COMPREHENDED what I wrote you would already know that I said the only reason that the race in VA is even close is due to the stupid comments that Allen has made and the horrendous job he then did with "damage control."
Navy you need to expand your thought process to get beyond your one line right wing radio talking point and actually use the brain that God gave you. It would prevent you writing inept posts.
Do you actually believe that Allen is guilt-free in this and that he has not made major mistakes in the what he said and how he reacted after he said it?
Try hard to think this one through NP....and see if you can post a considered response that is a couple of paragraphs so that your opinion is actually articulated versus you parrotting some right wing radio hack with a stupid one liner...
Sorry dude but if you write stupid posts I will express my opinion that your posts are stupid. You have this bizarre habit of not comprehending what other people write and you then reply to someone's post but your reply has nothing to do with what was written. That is exactly what you did when replying to my last post. Your response had nothing to do with what I wrote but you wrote your reply as if I had written something that I had not said which leads me to believe that you have issues with reading comprehension...otherwise how can it be explained the stuff that you write and conclude? Your posts make no sense at all.Navy Pride said:I just read a post on another thread where you personally attacked Aquapub, now you personally attack me........I thought personal attacks were against the rules of DP.
Your bank went belly-up thousands of posts ago. Remeber Harriet Meiers? :roflNavy Pride said:Allen will be re elected comfortably and will be a formidable candidate in 2008 for the Republican nomination for President..Take it to the bank.

Yet more proof that you have your thumb on the pulse of.....nothing! Here's a poll from yesterday:Navy Pride said:I just saw the John McCain ad for George Allen.............It was really a powerful ad.........I would not be surprised if it bumps him up in the polls to double digits.......

McClatchy-MSNBC poll:George Allen loses lead in VA Senate race
By STEVEN THOMMA
McClatchy Newspapers Sept. 29, 2006
WASHINGTON - Republican Sen. George Allen of Virginia has lost his lead in his bid for re-election and is now tied with Democratic challenger James Webb, a new poll for McClatchy Newspapers and MSNBC showed Friday.
The poll found that the two men each have the support of 43 percent of registered voters, with a third-party candidate supported by 2 percent and the other 12 percent undecided.

All tied Navy and as Allen's Dad would say the momentum is expanding it's WEBB....
Once again I must point out how poorly you comprehend what I and others write in this forum. You are consistently misstating others points of view, you never get it right.Navy Pride said:Yeah and they had one on the Beltway Boys today that showed Allen with a 7 pt lead........I will take mine, you can take yours.......:rofl
Don't bet your house on Webb champs.......Like Lamont he is a loser.........

SouthernDemocrat said:Come on Stinger, you are honestly saying that your beloved Republican's don't play dirty? If you do think that, then maybe you should check with your insurance to see if they will cover getting your head surgically removed from Limbaugh's colon.
Politics is dirty. Both sides play dirty. Thats how it works, nothing new here.
dsanthony said:I doubt the veracity of a "professor" describing these events. I'm disgusted that a man with decades of public service is being attacked because he said ****** when he was 18. Who cares? Not me.

Champs - Is Senator Byrd a racist for the fact that he was involved in the KKK in his past?
Champs - Is George Allen a rasict due to the allegations that he occasionally used the phrase ****** in his past?
I look forward to your answers.
aps said:Senator Byrd has been a racist in the past, and unlike Allen, he has ADMITTED his past racist acts.
George Allen claims he was never a racist. Sorry, but the facts don't support such an allegation.
