The Science Delusion Stops Here

How does it go? Modern science says: give us one free miracle and we’ll explain the rest.

The one free miracle was the appearance of all matter and energy in the universe, with all the laws that govern it.

And even granting science its one free miracle, its physical reductionism falls short.

Because Reality exceeds physical reality.

Time to get real, boys and girls.

Time to acknowledge the Evidence...

All things point to God

It's always nice to see the religious zealots using the wonderful gifts from science to **** on science. Let me know when you can produce 0.00000001% of the hard results with your mysticism that science can.

"Science can't provide a reason for the universe existing? Therefore a cosmic wizard must have done it. Checkmate atheists." ~ Angel in every thread

You're just defining a god as the first cause, your statement has nothing to do with the involved and conscious Gods of human faith.

All things point to mankind inventing gods.

We need to drive into students brains the concept of Occam's Razor and logic in general even when it come to gods or god.

If we have a lack of complete knowledge yet in some area of knowledge that does not mean that the best way to explained this lack is too wave our hands in the air while we make up super beings better known as gods out of whole cloths

I'm not asterisking on science, RA. I'm asterisking on scientism.
I'm not looking to take away the toys science has bestowed upon you. But playtime must have a limit.

The "toys" you're referring to is the breadth of human knowledge. Next time you have a serious medical condition I suggest you pray it away and leave the toys of science alone.

There is no such thing as scientism, you are ****ting on ALL science. Nobody knows why the universe exists or exactly how it came to be. Science and scientists are fine admitting they do not know yet. You on the other hand can't stand the idea of not knowing something so you just make up your own story with no supporting facts or evidence outside of your own imagination.

So which is more of a "religion", admitting you don't know because of the lack of evidence, or creating your own story and pretending you already know everything about everything?

There's another competing concept, called Angel's Razor, where whichever magical story you created makes you feel the best must be true.

We don't know, therefore God.

Checkmate, RabidAlpaca. Checkmate!

First, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh.... :)

Says the scientismist.

We were talking yesterday about your intellectual dishonesty and completely inability to address what anyone says to you. THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. You are completely and totally unwilling and unable to address any points brought up to you and constantly revert to childish one-liners and appeals to authority.

LOL take about limits as in silly and completely illogical stories of the universe being run by super beings behind the scene.

No. Your concept of god has nothing to do with the religious concept of God, except, ironically, a shared origin of finding a way to explain something you don't understand. Your idea of god as a cause defies the religious idea of God as a being.

Checkmate, scientismist.

Mind your own intellectual honesty, my friend, and I'll mind mine.
Scientism exists. It's the folly of our times.

Why are cause and being contradictory?

The one free miracle was the appearance of all matter and energy in the universe, with all the laws that govern it.

Not knowing exactly how the universe came to be is not evidence of God it just means we dont know

"Not knowing exactly" why there's something rather than nothing just means we don't know? C'mon, Quag.

Why are cause and being contradictory?

They're not, rather they're both required for a religious God, and you've only offered an argument for the first. You can't tell me lightning is caused by Zeus without also showing me Zeus.

Not knowing exactly how the universe came to be is not evidence of God it just means we dont know

Wrong! We don't know how it got there, therefore God done did it!

Checkmate, Quag.

Yes it means we dont know
Claiming God did it just moves it up one level
Where did God come from? Whatever answer you give to that question can be applied to the universe but it will just be an opinion as we do not know
