All Mexicans and rapists -W: 58]

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

Yep. And Hillary didn't call all of Trump's supporters deplorables. Politics is about scoring points. It has nothing to do with the truth.

YEP , and Hil LIAR y wouldn't know what the truth is ! She was looking to steal more WH furniture , so she lost !

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

Do you forsee this thread ending at a point where somebody is able to accurately show how Trump's famous quote shows that he called all Mexicans, or Mexico's best, rapists?

I foresee the sewer

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

Okay, but I still didn't say all Mexicans from that group either. I said majority.

When Trump made this statement:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

He is making it seem like the vast majority (not all) of them are criminals and rapists. While only a few are "good people".

WOW ! Seek help .

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

You cant read his comments and NOT see that as how his words read.

I broke his words down in the OP. If anybody can see what he said, it is me. Did I make any mistakes in the OP where I broke down exactly what he said? Did he say that all Mexicans, or even most mexicans are rapists?

You are being intentionally dishonest. His comments stated Mexico was sending the worst of the worst...but with the qualifier he was sure SOME were good people. You know better.

The point of this thread was to put the outrageous and false lefty claims to bed. Lefties were going around saying that Trump called Mexicans rapists. It is good to have a thread that breaks down exactly what he dId and dId not say. I will book mark it so it is handy.

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

That is not a specific group. There are legal Mexican immigrants, and then there are illegal Mexican immigrants. It is offensive to me and several members of my family when you do not differentiate between the two groups, since it marginalizes legal immigrants when you refer to illegals the same way.

Trump didn't differentiate between the two in the quote you built this entire thread on. So if you're going to be triggered by it, be triggered at Trump.

You have been pretty slippery all through this thread, so let me get right to it here. After carefully reading Trump's quote, did he say that all or most Mexicans are rapists? Has the myth that Trump said all Mexicans are rapists been officially debunked?

No one, not even Governess, as made that claim. Trump was talking about immigrants, he claimed immigrants (which is not ALL Mexicans) "... have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

He doesn't differentiate, he says "When Mexico sends its people..." this refers to people immigrating, legally or illegally, from Mexico. SOME, not all, not most, but SOME of which he assumes are good people. Is it ALL Mexicans? No, it's just the immigrants. This entire thread is a failure and based on strawman arguments.

Trump's argument as stated, means that most Mexican immigrants have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

No one, not even Governess, as made that claim.

Surely you are not going to try and deny that the left has tried over and over to force the idea that Trump called Mexicans rapists, are you? The notion that Trump called Mexicans rapists was the Democrat campaign strategy, so let's not do the "who's on first" thing.

Trump was talking about immigrants, he claimed immigrants (which is not ALL Mexicans) "... have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

I just reviewed his quote to see what you meant when you said "he claimed immigrants", and I could not even find the word immigrants anywhere in it. I read through the quote carefully, and the only people I could find who he talked about were an isolated group of people who Mexico sends who are not Mexico's best, not you, and who bring lots of problems.

I have no idea what Trump meant when he alleged "when Mexico sends its people". He did go on though, to specify that these people are not Mexico's best, and that they are not you. He did not specify people who are immigrating legally or illegally. The people who he assumed are good people were some of the people who Mexico sends who are not Mexico's best, not you, not all Mexicans, and who are bringing such problems as drugs, crime, and rape. Considering the problems that this isolated group of people are bringing, that was pretty generous of him to assume that some of them were good people.

Trump's argument as stated, means that most Mexican immigrants have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.

You cannot assert that Trump's statement means anything more that what his statement actually said. He never referred to "Mexican immigrants", or "most Mexican immigrants". He referred specifically to a very isolated group of people who are not Mexico's best, not you, not all Mexicans, and who have problems.

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

Trump's argument as stated

Ya know... If you can't win this by posting more powerful arguments that have more merit than mine, you could quote my last post somewhere else on the forum where I do not have access as a new member, and you could then have the advantage. Nobody would be able to backtrack our debate here to see who's claims have the most merit, and you could always have the last word...

I know the election is over, but I wanted to sort out exactly what Trump said way back when he announced. I still see references to Trump's famous quote during his announcement speech where people are still using that quote to imply that Trump is a racist, or that he stated that ALL Mexicans are rapists, or that he said anything at all about ALL Mexicans. It is time to establish what exactly he said, who exactly he was talking about, and who he was NOT talking about. Many folks want very badly for him to have said certain things, so let's look at what in fact he really did say.

First, here is the exact quote:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

In the first sentence, he is talking about people who he alleges that Mexico sends, and he has excluded "Mexico's best" from the people who he is talking about. This first sentence clearly shows that Trump was not commenting on "all" Mexicans, just the people who Mexico sends who are not also not Mexico's best.

Ok, next sentence. "They're not sending you, they're not sending you", sounds like it is open to interpretation, but the one thing we do know is that he is not talking about Mexico's best, or all Mexicans.

The next sentence really narrows things down as far as who he is talking about. "They're sending people who have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems with us." Here, he has narrowed down who he is talking about to people Mexico sends, who are not Mexico's best, certainly not every Mexican everywhere, and who are bringing problems. His grammar is pretty screwed up with the "us" thing, but it does not appear he is intending on including "us" as who he is talking about.

This next part is not describing who he is talking about, but tells us some of the "problems" of the people who Mexico sends who are bringing problems. "They're bringing drugs, They're bringing crime. They're rapists." Those problems that this isolated group of people who are not Mexico's best, not you, not all Mexicans, and who have problems, do sound pretty bad, so I am sure glad that Trump brought these things up. These things need to be brought up and be handled.

Last sentence: "And some I assume, are good people." It was pretty generous that Trump added this on, considering the kinds of problems that this isolated group of people are bringing. He assumes that some of these people who Mexico sends who are not Mexico's best, not you, not all Mexicans, and who are bringing such problems are actually good people.

Now we know who Trump was talking about:
An isolated group of people who Mexico sends who are not Mexico's best, not you, and who bring lots of problems.

Now we know who he was not talking about:
He was not talking about Mexico's best, or all Mexicans, or you.

Not commenting on the ridiculousness of some Mexican conspiracy (they "send" them, rather than individuals being responsible for their own behavior), your argument is still stupid.

President-Elect Trump's subject was "Mexicans who come over" and he said "They're rapists." Let me break this down for you:

They [Mexicans who come over] are rapists.

Please show me where he referred to "Mexicans who come over". The only people who I saw Trump refer to in his quote were specifically a very isolated group of people who are not Mexico's best, not you, not all Mexicans, and who have problems.

Re: All Mexicans and rapists

Athough he did make it seem like the majority of people immigrating from Mexico were rapists and criminals.

A lot of aliens entering U.S. territory illegally across our southern border are criminals. There is good reason to expect a person who disrespects our immigration laws to disrespect other laws once he is living here. About eighty miles from where I live in Southern California, there is a minimum security prison for aliens who have been convicted of misdemeanor crimes and are awaiting deportation. At any given time, it contains about four thousand of them. And there are other similar facilities--that number reflects just illegal aliens in Southern California who have been convicted.

It is pretty funny how she says in what you quoted "he did make it seem like the majority of people immigrating from Mexico were rapists and criminals."
No lefty can show where he actually says this, but they like to post what they want him to have said.

The fact it took you paragraphs of text to explain what Trump "really meant" says it all.

The entire quote is him discussing who Mexico sends.

Correct. He never discusses "Mexicans who come over". Glad to see somebody could see the light.

Now, question for you- Who exactly did he say Mexico sends?

The fact it took you paragraphs of text to explain what Trump "really meant" says it all.

Very good point! What he really did say is right there, and it is easy to understand. The left really blundered when they went around claiming that Trump called Mexicans rapists. If lefties would just stop claiming that Trump said what they want him to have said, it would not take long at all to discuss it. That is the problem with claiming that he said something that he did not. You can pump billions of media dollars into making it sound like Trump called Mexicans rapists, but there is no winning when his quote is right in front of you.

I have watched an incredible number of lefties who have been duped by the media, claim that Trump called Mexicans rapists, just like moths keep flying into a flame. They all just "know" that Trump called Mexicans rapists, but they can NEVER wrap quotes around his words where he does this. This thread is loaded with moths flying into the flame, and not one lefty has shown where Trump called Mexicans rapists. Lol, I even saw one lefty on this thread deny that the left was even saying Trump called Mexicans rapists!

Are you being paid by Russia? Just curious.

It looks like some time has passed since I started this thread, and still no lefty has been able to show where Trump called Mexicans rapists. I guess the lefties here on this forum agree unanimously that Trump never called Mexicans rapists. At last, lefties can finally see that all the lefty media reporting that suggests otherwise is fake.
