Alberta's measles outbreaks surpass case counts reported for entire U.S.

One of my earliest memories as a child was getting the measles. Whew, I was sure sick!

That's interesting news. No snark or judgment behind my comment. I was just a bit surprised when I saw the thread title and I do find it interesting news.

Rural areas have the lowest, for Calgary the areas with the lowest incomes and generally recent immigrant population have lower vaccination rates than high income areas in the city.

Alberta used to have a vaccination requirement to attend public school, I believe, the catholic school system which is publicly funded still has it

You like children dying? You like children having health problems? That's sick.
That is a very weak and shameful attempt at projection. I heard 1288 cases in Alberta. How many of them were children, and how many died? I suspect that the vast majority survived.

1288 cases where there shouldn't be 1288 cases.

1288 cases where measles may have a long term effect on the immune system.

1288 cases in a province with a million unvaccinated people. 1288 cases of a disease that is one of the leading causes of childhood blindness.

How many of those 1288 cases have resulted in death? It's nowhere close to a pandemic. Why is the left freaking out?

It's not just "bad parenting." The root cause of this is a culture and media ecosystem that is actively manipulating people for their own gain at the cost of people's health and actual lives.

Death isn't the only unsatisfactory outcome.
I had measles as a child. I moved on.
I might have missed it. Who stated it was or was close to a pandemic?
Such obsession over 1288 out of a population of roughly 5 million suggests that many of you on the left think so.
The left is freaking out?

Pointing out ignorant choices isn't freaking out.
Perhaps you just want to mandate vaccines all around for any malady for which they exist?

5 million cases?

1288 shouldn't have happened.
Still nothing to write home about. If there were 120,000 cases, we might have something to obsess over. And who is to know how many developed measles despite taking the vaccine. I watched many relatives and coworkers who were vaccinated for Covid, come down with Covid.
You apparently are ignorant of the issues measles can cause.
The keyword is: "can". Can you tell me the number of those 1288 cases that ended up with those issues?

1288 cases that shouldn't have been cases.

Not complacent,

For some it is religious, others anti government, some don’t believe in vaccines and think they are dangerously

Now I also expect that Indian reservations are likely also having significant outbreaks, I expect and rightly so they don’t trust the government very much
I think that this depends on the tribe/community. With Covid, the pueblo just outside Albuquerque reached a 98% vaccination rate very quickly.
