Only morons don't follow FDA dietary guidelines?

I ask as an analogy to the nasty rhetoric used against anti mask folks. Think it's pretty childish and immoral to talk that way on this personally.

Not following FDA dietary guidelines doesn't hurt anyone but yourself. If you want to do that to yourself, fine, but it is not in any way analogous to not taking precautions against a virulent pathogen that will negatively impact everyone around you.

There is a dangerous but easily preventable plague going around. Only morons ignore CDC guidance regarding dangerous plagues.

Is that better?

FDA dietary guidelines are way too carb heavy. You would do good to go beyond their recommendations and be pretty stupid to go below them.

Not so, since everyone pays for the medical/nursing home care being ‘wasted’ on those who require it based on having preventable conditions. The dumbest thing done lately was to make most pre-existing conditions (aka actuarial risk factors) taboo for increasing medical care insurance premiums.

That’s if you believe healthcare should be for profit. Which has been a massive failure.

Obesity and drug abuse place an added burden on medical/nursing home care providers regardless of how they are being paid.

That they do!

Advances in medical care that keep people alive longer has had a much larger impact on the "wasted" money keeping people alive. If people would just go back to dying from easily preventable causes it sure would cut costs.

Your attempted "gotcha thread" is failing spectacularly.

Yep, just letting folks die would seriously reduce medical care costs. ;)

oh brother, and for those who were exposed to asbestos, or had some other health issue pop up that was NOT their fault, well sorry buddy, you don't get your health care covered?
smokers? don't cover them? people who drive longer distances, don't cover them? people who live in Flint and were poisoned by their water, don't cover them? hell, if I go hiking and break an ankle better not cover me either, I should have known better than to go hiking.

in my youth, I did a LOT of sunbathing, I never imagined the day I would end up with melanoma, so if I was American, my insurance should NOT cover me?
meanwhile in Canada, I had the melanoma removed, skin from my thighs grafted onto the spot (it was on top of my head), was referred to a wound clinic that cleaned and dressed both wounds till healed, and had my pain meds covered as well - all on my universal health care.

IMAGINE a country that allows medical care to pick and chose WHO gets medical care and who doesn't................................... OOPS, SORRY............................. just realized there is already a country like that.

There's no time now that the virus hurricane is upon us. Do you lecture Floridians who's house is old after the hurricane starts? Or do you tell them to evacuate, because they'll die if they stay in that house?

Seems to me you're stretching like Gumby. Why not try to thwart Dems another way. One that works.

How much do you think you'll end up paying for this pandemic? I think it dwarfs anything you'll throw up there.

......and your children. I am shocked at the number of fat parents with fat kids I see the infrequent times I go to Walmart when in Florida. Then I take a glance at their food cart.....chips, frozen pizza, sugared cereal, prepared foods, Kraft dinner etc.

You are disagreeing with the science?????

Would that make you a cultist science denier? Or not?

Do you object to any and all insurance premiums being based on actuarial risk factors or only medical care insurance premiums?

again, WHO decides what is a risk factor? serious question. YOU? ME? the insurance industry? one day they might say not being vaccinated is a risk factor (in fact, I would be ok with that).
