After this, America really needs to talk about wages and worker protections

Entirely different. But if you must know, members of the military are not paid that well.

And by the way, the existence of the U.S. hasn't been threatened in a hot war since the War of 1812. If then.

Exactly. They should be paid for every day life, not for the crisis!

It's not entirely different. People stocking grocery stores are currently what stands between you and the collapse of society.

Their rent checks aren't going to mean much if the shelves are empty.

"And don't get me started on the sacrifices that medical workers are being asked to make. How many of them are going to die because we just can't let the Dow ****ing Jones drop too low?"

As many as it takes, if trump has His way.

What happened to 70 dollars an hr? You don't suddenly have a priblem with your ideology do you?

What happened to zero? You don't suddenly have a problem with your ideology do you?

Then if you have not already start your own business and run it where everyone is paid the same. Bet you don't last long.

Like I said, you would devalue the worth of a supervisor and more skilled employees.
He's paid the same amount. Are you somehow worth less if other people are now paid more? Talk about envy.

Why do you think that would happen? You don't think I'd get a raise too?

I was responding to phattone. He doesn't care for those making more.

We have more than enough restaurants. This isn't an excuse to pay people starvation wages. And yes, if they qualify for food stamps they are starvation wages.

Talk about ignorant. I never had an expectation of being paid the same as a supervisor. You know, someone who had more skill, more knowledge in the field. That is why I worked my way up the chain.

For example I do not believe a basic wildland firefighter is worth the same pay as a Type I Incident Commander.

How does your value go down if others are paid more? Are you envious?

What are you trying to say? We could have solved simple poverty Yesterday in a market friendly manner, but for the "social Horror" incurred by the right wing that even the Poor may benefit.

Yes, we have all heard your drivel about how the government should create money so they can give it to you and your basement dwelling brethren. Get.a.job.

At what point did you lose the shame of being a leech?

What about thirty-five dollars an hour so even the Poor can pay their share of taxes?

This is some funny ****. Suddenly everyone is upper middle class! Where, exactly, do you think that $2T in wages is going to come from exactly? Furthermore, why would every business simply ship their jobs overseas to someplace else? As I have said before, go start your own business and show us the way kiddo.

When you go to a restaurant, assuming they take your food stamps, do you tip 100% on top of the check? Otherwise you are just part of the problem by not tipping enough.

You didn't answer my question.

what question

eliminate it completely?

not sure it could change much....you all think it would

this is not the turn of the 1900's and we dont have child labor, and slaves anymore

workers can comes and go as they please...negotiate their own wages...and the sky is the limit

I am sure those people who lost their jobs working at those restaurants feel a little different then you

So tell me how many people do you think would be willing to do things like spend money on further education or take on jobs with increased responsibilities and stress when they will make no more money then the person doing an entry level job.

The problem with the majority of your ideas is they don't work in the real world.

They are probably great in fairy tale land.

Why should someone bust their ass and spend tons of money going to med school to be a doctor when they will make the same amount of money as the person cleaning the hospital.

are you really this stupid? or just playing this stupid on the internet, being a troll?

really simple now, so a 1st grader can understand

employee A is a newbie....no skills, so time on job, no training etc.....new hire now makes $ 9 bucks an hour
employee B is a two year veteran...shows up, has learned the basic skills, and now earns $ 11.50 an hour
employee C is a 5 year veteran....supervisor of 4 other employees....making $ 16.00 bucks an hour
employee D is a 12 year vet who runs the department, and oversees 16 people....salaried at 55k annually

now the rules change....and employee A get raises to $ 15 bucks an hour....
what do you do with employee B, C, and D if anything?

I'm not. Just disagree with your view. Does that bother you?
No, I know plenty of people disagree. We have a fundamentally different understanding of the purpose of an economy.

I am sure those people who lost their jobs working at those restaurants feel a little different then you
A job that pays $8 per hour isn't a big loss at all. The safety net covers it.

Why are people who do these things making little more than subsistence level? That's the more interesting question.
