Thats what I thought, because I know that C2C would never say that blacks aren't friendly based on the a walk through downtown ;)

I got called on a nursing job in a big city. Some of the staff was white and some black (about half and half). I will tell you what, the blacks were easier to get along with and harder working. They were all very friendly and went out of their way to help me. The point I'm trying to make is, all of that nonsense about blacks being whatever ignorant people say they are is bullshit. I would ask a white girl a question and she would not reply or basically say, "do it yourself". The African Americans were much more helpful.

I'm simply pointing this out, because I had never really interacted with blacks. After Katrina, I heard so much nonsense and stereotypes.

Like I said, I grew up in an extremely predujice community. Although my parents never said a bad word about blacks, people in my area did. I brushed it off. I was never a racist. I didn't really ever think much of it, after Katrina I heard that the blacks were rude, crude, poor, stupid, you name it. Perhaps, if I just lost some loved ones and my home, I would be a little bit bitter too.

I walked in downtown Indianapolis one night in the early nineties and had a gang follow me and my group of friends. We got a police escort to our car, but by the same token, this is almost an all white community and someone tried to break in my home and succeeded in breaking into my neighbors home. Guess what, they were white meth heads.

Thats kinda scary, being followed by a bunch of druggies, but it just shows that crazy knows no color.

my observation has been that most blacks call themselves black. its everyone else that calls them african americans.

thats because "african american" is the politically correct term, whether blacks actually use it or not.

Agreed! I don't see why this can't be done. Considering that I've never been to Africa. What the heck does it mean anyways? Africa is a continent not a country last time I checked.
