I don't know why Volker resigned. The answer to that would have to come from him. I didn't see anything in the text messages that would cause me concern if I were in his shoes. The Dems don't need a quid pro quo to Impeach. Trump was clearly asking Ukraine to investigate hoping he would end up with dirt on a domestic political rival for the nomination, in fact the Dem front runner. Trump is using taxpayer assets to ask for same. That is enough to impeach.

Now Trump has openly asked China to investigate for dirt on the Bidens again using taxpayer and citizen assets as a bargaining chip. He is asking an authoritarian tyrannical government of all things to develop dirt on the Bidens. That is enough for Impeachment.

A quid pro quo is not required in any event. But it should be clear why Trump is focusing on one.

Frankly, I believe we have one. But it hardly matters from the perspective of Impeachment. We already have enough for Impeachment. Now the Dems have to present the material clearly and cleanly. They have enough at this point.
