A teacher wore blackface to school and rapped on Halloween. He's now been suspended

Teacher suspended for wearing blackface to school in California - CNN

A video posted on social media shows the teacher with his face painted black and dressed up in an apparent attempt to imitate the rapper Common.
"Opportunities limitless, possibilities senseless, what will you do? Millions of people, not enough to eat, what will we do? With AI, Microsoft technology, the future is up to you, you can do it. With AI. The future will blow your mind," the teacher says in the video.

Blackface seems to be going around a lot lately. While I think this is funny, the teacher should have know better or did he?
 
Hmm... imitation used to be considered the most sincere form of flattery.

Now it has become "Fire that racist pig!", but after a fair hearing, of course. ;)

The one unforgivable sin in this country these days is to do ANYTHING that might offend a left winger.
 
If you’re stupid enough to do black face in this day and age, and in spite of the ridiculous amount of media saturation it’s gotten in that last couple years, then maybe you don’t have the intelligence and the sense to hold a job that involves interaction with other humans.

It never ceases to amaze me how times have changed. There was a time in this country when being offended was seen as a personal matter and it was the responsibility of the offended individual to figure out how to deal with their hurt feelings. Now there is no longer even room for context or interpretation. If one person is offended the offensive act automatically becomes an indefensible act and warrants any and all punitive action by the offended in reparations for the offense.
 
I may have to turn in my Libtard card for this but I think people need to relax a little about past incidents of blackface and issues around cultural appropriation.

First of all I think the response to both is over the top, and I'm talking about us liberals. We've become intolerant of intolerance to the point of being intolerant. Even if we all agree that blackface and/or cultural appropriation isn't in the best of taste no one should be losing their job over it.

We have to remember that a person is not the worst thing they've ever done.
