The beautiful state of New York, and the last bastion of common sense in America.

We are the state which overwhelmingly rejected the Tea Party extremist Rob Astorino and reelected a strong progressive leader in Governor Andrew Cuomo, while voters in Massachusetts and Illinois bowed to the huge amount of Koch brother money and elected ultraconservative right wing governors. Astorino is a proven racist, keeping millions of minorities homeless in Westchester county, and a nutjob who wants children to carry guns in classrooms. Meanwhile, Cuomo is still too far on the right on issues like fracking, but has his heart in the right place. He absolutely secured my vote when he said last year that conservatives have no place in New York.

We are the state whose largest city, New York City, is considering allowing undocumented aliens to vote, giving them the same basic rights as their fellow Americans.

By the way, New York City is trying to regulate large sized containers of soda. This shows that our government cares about our health and fitness, in the way any parent would, instead of selling us out to big food produce industries

We are the state which has banned assault rifles, and makes it impossible to carry a handgun in public, making New York City one of the safest cities in the Nation. Personally, there are still too many guns, especially upstate. But just like New York lead the slavery abolitionist movement, it leads the gun abolitionist movement as well. I believe that the day the nation finally repeals the second amendment, it will look upon New York as a leader and catalyst in the struggle.

New York: bestowing upon America such heroes as Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt, Andrew Cuomo, and Michael Bloomberg

This must be a parody. its so stupid it has to be comedy. he doesn't even understand what an "assault rifle" is.

Michael Bloomberg is a hero? Spare me.

Yep, out of the 50 US states NY ranks as #19 for most danerous based on crime statistics. Keep up the good work and you may soon be out of the top 20.

New York: #19 Most Dangerous State 2014 | Law Street (TM)

To be fair and balanced, the great state of Texas ranks right behind you at #18.

Texas: #18 Most Dangerous State 2014 | Law Street (TM)

So there you go. I tell you why New York is so great, and all you can say is "he must be joking."

No, I'm not. New York is, in the words of our State Senate Minority Leader, Andrea Stewart Cousins, "a strong, progressive state."

We will lead the nation in its transition from a third world apartheid country with more gun murders than Afghanistan to a first world, multicultural, social democracy.

And btw, I know what an assault rifle is. Its the tool NRA members use to shoot up schools, streets, and any other place they wish, leading to the over 30,000 gun deaths in America each year.

While Astorino is an asshole, where the hell are you seeing these "millions of homeless" in Westchester freakin' county, of all places?

Also, if Michael Bloomberg is a hero, then I'm an astronaut. Michael Bloomberg is a hyper-authoritarian turd.

I'm thinking you're right.

now if it was just guns he might be legit but when you get the crap with the drinks etc, he sounds like a libertarian trying to be a POE

no one can intentionally post something this stupid and believe it.

Yeah, I'm thinking so as well.

"reelected a strong progressive leader in Governor Andrew Cuomo" - except that:

OK, so he really IS being the strong and progressive leader the OP claims, corrupt.

I'm sorry, but I can't take the OP as serious.

OK fine. You can't take me seriously for speaking my mind? Fine with me.

I also can't take you seriously when you say that we need smaller government, when government intervention has lead to the high incomes and average SAT scores of people living in New York and California, among others.

And I am 100 percent behind Bloomberg's attack on large sugary drinks. We Taxpayers pay for emergency care caused by obesity, cause din turn by huge amount of junk food in society. Bloomberg shows that he cares for the city by trying to stem the obesity epidemic which has affected America.

I think Bloomberg's "attack on large sugary drinks" is an ultimately useless and overly heavy-handed intrusion into personal freedoms. It's positively ridiculous. You want the government telling you what you can put in your body?

I don't take you seriously because I find most of your positions to be ludicrous.

Sounds good, has some flair, but completely inaccurate.

The Fort Hood shooter was a Muslin and a registered Democrat. Both of the Columbine shooters while too young to vote, their parents were Democrats. The Virginia Tech shooter... nope... registered Democrat and wrote Bush 43 complaining about Conservative initiatives. Theater Shooter, not even close, registered Democrat and worked for the Obama campaign and a Occupy Wall Street participant. Sandy Hook shooter, nope, not a member of the NRA nor was his mom.

Best I can find from research there has been no NRA members involved in mass shootings.

You have way too many examples of liberals going crazy, getting a gun, and taking lives only to see other liberals telling the world the "NRA Members shoot up schools, streets, and any other place they wish."

How about we start looking at the person instead of the tools used before we end up like the UK looking to go after knives next?

New York City's matching funds model for campaigns really interests me. I think it is something that other cities and even states should adopt to help fight back corporatism of politics by allowing more people to throw their hat in the ring and have a chance at funding a respectable campaign.

Bloomberg, the All American hero.

This is a pretty decent piece of satire, man.

Oh good lord.

What a joke.

I guess this site already had the likes of Paleocon and Navy Pride. Only a matter of time before we got an equally hysterical leftist parody figure.

My "parody" is nothing compared to the onion-level parody thought of people who think that the government should let people poison themselves with pure sugar, costing taxpayer money to save them when the stroke or heart attack hits.

My "parody" is nothing compared to the mind-boggling fact that some people think guns have any place in a modern civilized society

My "parody" is nothing compared to the fact that some people think that bombing every country who so much as bats an eye at us is a good idea.

You should take the left more seriously. You laughed us off on November 3rd, 2008 and 2012. And look what happened
