A "Sensible" school security plan, regarding armed staff...

You keep asking that. I dont have kids.

But since your arguments are highly flawed, there is no correct answer. YOu might think that it reinforces some higher moral stance...but it's obviously a cheap ploy.
You seem very upset.

Not at all...I can foresee this ending up with me Pwning you like in the FOID thread very easily.

Now...your post was 'not discussing the topic.'

Please stop worrying about how you 'appear' online to others...that ship has sailed...and continue with the discussion instead of trying to derail it.

I am sorry you are incorrect. At work they are always guarded by cops. In my state they are called capitol police

Wrong as usual. One quick easy one is the Secret Service.

Ok. I'll try. Thanks. LOL

They arent cops.

You fail.

I was a park ranger...a LE officer. I was not a cop.

You are kidding ....right? You are so intent on "winning" something that you suggest that the secret service are not highly trained professionals whose sole job is protection when around the president? Are you stuck on the word cop? Come on man.....this is just sad.

You said 'cops.' Specifically, over and over. Even after I corrected you twice (security).

If you'd like to return to whatever original point you were trying to make, feel free.

Ok buddy. I am fine with people reading this and coming to their own conclusions. Lol

More non-discussion?

But so am I.

Now...did you have a point to make there or not? Seems like not.

Well, if you ever do rejoin the discussion, I'll be happy to explain it to you
Cops should provide security in schools. Kids deserve it

Good for you. I dont. Esp the ones that performed so well in the FL shooting :doh

Not to mention all the shooting of unarmed persons we hear of every week.

LMAO, you opened yourself up to that one!

Btw, those very same representatives in UT and WA St and probably other states dont have that same confidence either...in both states teachers and/or school adminstrators have the option to be armed.

interesting.. so should only professionals then have access to firearms?

If not.. why not.. if a teacher with specialized training no less.. is not safe enough to have a firearm in a classroom.. why are they safe when walking down the street.. at the local eatery.. at the mall.. or in their own home with their husband and kids?

So you believe that kids deserve cops that either might shoot them or just not bother responding to a threat.

Cool. Certainly see nothing better there than teachers trained and committed to protecting their students. They already try to...with their bodies. I'll take that commitment over $$ professionals. Not that both dont have their place in the security scheme of things.

There are more opportunities for a teacher to pull out her gun if she is around kids with it for six hours a day every day of the school year. And she may kill a kid when she does.

Why aren't amateurs good enough for politicians?

Hmmm so you have teachers around your children that you fear might pull a gun and kill a kid? WOW..

Personally.. I think it would be common sense to figure out that if there are teachers capable of doing that.. they should not be teachers...

otherwise there are more opportunities to: pull out a knife and stab my son
Hit my son with a baseball bat
Throw chemicals in my sons face
And so on.

Please explain why you have teachers around your children that you know at any moment could lose it and harm your children?

You will? Should we replace all cops with amateurs? LOL

I don't recall saying that. A teacher could kill a kid in a hudred ways with a gun because they are untrained amateurs. My kids have cops protecting them. They are worth it. Are yours?

Did you forget already? Let me help you: the little blue arrows next to a poster's name...they take you back to their quote so you can 'remember.'

If you claim ignorance again, we can only presume you are just avoiding answering...again.

But here you go:

You will? Should we replace all cops with amateurs?

Will you pay them? Arent cops paid?

No. I don't support amateurs doing a cops job. Do you?

A cop can kill a kid in a hundred ways with a gun too...they can also stand outside a school while they're being shot.

what point are you trying to make here?

No. I don't support amateurs doing a cops job. Do you?

Well if you wont pay them, why would people do cops' jobs?

In a school...which is what we are discussing, it's been pointed out to you clearly that teachers can be armed safely (they already are in some states, and have proven their commitment to their students with their lives) and that cops have proven there's no guarantee that they'll do a damn thing to save 'your kids.'

So as I have posted more than once...sure, enable teachers that want to have a firearm in the classroom to do so and I think they'd definitely do the 'cops job' just fine.
