I'm not talking about covert operations. I'm talking about agencies who act in their own self interest and often in opposition to whoever is sitting in the Oval Office. And oversight? First of all, one has to assume that those conducting oversight care if an agency is working against the President or that the agencies are even telling those conducting oversight about their actions. Testimony from Comey, Clapper and Brennan come to mind.

I never said there was some sort of single-purpose monolithic intention behind all this, though it's clear that, during the Trump administration, all the factions came together against their perceived common enemy.

In fact, within the Deep State nowadays, there are two major factions that are working against each other and for their own interests. The two "teams" are the IC/State Department and the Pentagon/WH. Willful Ignorance has always been the desired make up of society by the plutocratic autocrats, who consider themselves like a monarachy, where democracy is only for them.

Wealthy, Land Owners and Industrialist White men tried that shortly after the drafting of The Constitution. When they declared that "only such white men were considered as Person" and only those considered as Person were allowed to vote. They let poor white men vote, because the wealthy could dictate and control how the poor white man voted.
