A report card on the Biden administration

Well, there is some good news for a change. We could use it.

NBC reports, "Congressional leaders and President Joe Biden announced a deal Tuesday morning to fund the government ahead of a weekend deadline, breaking an impasse regarding money for the Department of Homeland Security, which had held up talks.

"Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced the DHS deal in a statement, saying it will allow Congress to finish funding the government for the remainder of the fiscal year, which ends in September. (Johnson spins like a top) He reverse himself a lot, especially when it come to funding the government.)

"Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., echoed news of the agreement, saying both chambers are now “in the process of finalizing text and reports for Congress to closely review and consider ASAP.”

"Congress will need to move quickly. Funding is set to expire Saturday morning for the departments of State, Defense, Homeland Security, Labor and Health and Human Services and a host of other agencies. The other five funding bills were effectively settled by the end of last week."

That is because Republicans are unable to discuss the issues, defend their party, or defend their candidate for President. I discuss Biden a lot. the latest are posts 2714 and 2722. You are making a fool of yourself by lying so much.
Are you still ranting?

Consider the appeal of a calm rational mind. I know it's foreign to your thinking but the best results come without passion.

CNN reports, "Former President Donald Trump’s campaign and joint fundraising committee together brought in $20.3 million in February and entered this month with a combined $41.9 million cash on hand, according to a Trump campaign official."But the amounts trail far behind the $53 million that President Joe Biden and Democrats previously announced raising in February and the massive $155 million in available cash that Biden’s team said it amassed with its affiliated committees."The February numbers released by Trump indicate an increase from previous months."

Well, there is some good news for a change. We could use it.

The Dow is soaring, and we have virtual full employment and robust spending.

CNN reports, "It’s a pretty good morning for Wall Street — the Dow Jones Industrial Average is closing in on the 40,000 threshold for the first time in its 128-year history."

Beats me as to why Americans are giving our President poor marks on the economy. Are marginal wage earners blaming the President for their lack of income?

CNN reports, "Lawmakers unveiled a $1.2 trillion government funding package on Thursday, setting up a high-stakes sprint to pass the legislation as a shutdown deadline looms at the end of the week.

"It’s not yet clear if lawmakers will be able to pass the legislation ahead of Friday’s deadline, raising concerns on Capitol Hill that there could be a short-term lapse in government funding over the weekend.

Why did the politicians wait until the last moment? Not very bright.
"With the release of the legislative text that’s more than 1,000 pages, the House and Senate are now facing a major time crunch to get the legislation across the finish line. A number of critical government operations need to be funded by the end of the day on Friday, March 22, including the departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, State and the legislative branch."

Things aren't all bad. Along with a soaring stock market, full employment, and an economy firing on all cylinders, Americans are living longer.

ABC reports, "Life expectancy in the United States increased in 2022 after two years of decline, according to new final federal mortality data.

"In a report published early Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), data showed life expectancy at birth was 77.5 years in 2022."

That leaves only Republicans to complain because a Democrat sits in the Oval Office.

Trump Republicans are completely unable to explain why they support Trump.

This is very puzzling. Does it have something to do with their intelligence? Their candidate for President is an accused felon with dwindling campaign funds, but they seem perfectly willing to pay Trump's legal fees.

How dumb is that? Ordinarily, when a person contributes to a campaign fund, it goes directly for use in a campaign. Not in Trump's case, but his followers don't mnd

Or, they don't know. They don't get their information from responsible news sources. They get their information from Trump.

And he never lies, right?

Meanwhile, the accused felon, Republican candidate for President, is failing to come up a $464M bond and may lose property.

Again, his followers don't mind.

Go figure!

They are strange.

CNN reports, "The New York attorney general’s office has filed judgments in Westchester County, the first indication that the state is preparing to try to seize Donald Trump’s golf course and private estate north of Manhattan, known as Seven Springs.

"State lawyers entered the judgments with the clerk’s office in Westchester County on March 6, just one week after Judge Arthur Engoron made official his $464 million decision against Trump, his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization.

"The decision against Trump and the difficulty the former president is having securing a bond while he appeals the verdict strikes directly at Trump’s image as a billionaire as he attempts to raise more cash for both his legal bills and third run for the White House."

Trump's followers are not complaining one bit. They is all okay with them.
"President Trump famously declared during his 2016 campaign that he loved the “poorly educated” because voters with lower levels of schooling delivered an overwhelming share of votes to him," the conservative Washington Times."

It takes one to know one.

Trump is asking some of his friends, formerly imprisoned felons who he had pardoned, to help him with his campaign.

Weird, but true. Trump has several associates with prison time. Maybe that is why his followers like him so much. We will never know. They don't talk.

CNN reports, "If not for a pardon from Donald Trump in the final weeks of his presidency, Paul Manafort might still be serving a federal sentence. Instead, Trump’s former campaign manager is a free man – and free to help his old boss get back to the White House.

"Manafort is in discussions to assist the Republican National Convention this summer where Trump will officially become the party’s presidential nominee once again, CNN and other outlets reported this week. His anticipated involvement would make Manafort the latest beneficiary of clemency under Trump to assist the former president’s political comeback.

"More than a dozen people pardoned of their crimes or who had their sentences commuted by Trump have since aided the former president as he seeks a return to power. One Republican consultant who received a pardon, John Tate, made more than $70,000 last year consulting for Trump’s presidential campaign, federal records show.

"It is remarkable for a presidential candidate to benefit from the people whom he granted legal forgiveness — a reality that is reflective of both the unprecedented nature of Trump’s third White House bid and his norm-shattering use of presidential authority while in office."

Trump's supporters like all this. They apparently like the idea of felons playing a role in the federal government.

Again, we can't know that for certain because they don't talk.

They are even unable to defend themselves.

Are we going to let them pick our next President?

The Times reports, "This is a moment of financial truth (???) for Donald J. Trump.

"The former president, who has lost two recent civil cases, is under pressure to find enough cash to stave off enormous asset seizures while he appeals judgments against him totaling at least $537 million.

"One, $454 million, was imposed by a New York State judge last month in Mr. Trump’s civil fraud trial. The other, $83.3 million, was awarded in January by a federal jury in a defamation case brought by the writer E. Jean Carroll.

"Alina Habba, one of Mr. Trump’s lawyers, said that he is worth “billions and billions and billions of dollars” and “happens to have a lot of cash.”

"But a filing Wednesday by Ms. Habba and other lawyers raised questions about just how liquid he actually is. They offered a New York appeals court a bond of only $100 million while he appeals. Mr. Trump’s lawyers said that to secure the full $454 million set by Justice Arthur F. Engoron, he would probably need to sell properties."

In the opinion of some, Trump is lying. Trump knows his followers support him because he is in legal trouble. Trump's legal problems garner him cash his followers are eager to pay. In addition, Trump loves to play the victim. He blames Biden for his legal woes, and his followers, who shun reality, believe him. Be that as it may, Trump loves the publicity of his legal problems. In his mind, he can't get enough publicity, and he doesn't care if it is good or bad.

To know Trump, one has to realize he is an extremist narcissist.

Polls show that 60% of Americans do not trust the current Supreme Court.
I know I don't trust in it anymore and believe five justices (Thomas/Alito/Gorsuch/Kavanaugh/Barrett) are highly partisan and two (Thomas/Alito) are corrupt.

And a prolific liar who creates his own reality. He is the Republican candidate for President.

In other words, is there any possible reason to believe anything he says?

His followers cant answer that question. They don't say anything.

NBC reports, "Former President Donald Trump claimed early Friday that he has "almost" $500 million in cash, undercutting his lawyers' claims that he would not be able to comply with the $464 million judgment against him and his co-defendants in the civil fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

"Through hard work, talent, and luck, I currently have almost five hundred million dollars in cash, a substantial amount of which I intended to use in my campaign for president," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social in all caps.

"Trump hasn’t contributed any of his own money to his presidential campaigns since 2016. He had floated in 2020 that he’d personally spend what it took to win re-election, but did not do so."

ABC adds, "Donald Trump's social media company Truth Social completed a merger Friday morning that could net the former president over $3 billion."

It is a strange deal, because Truth Social is overvalued. The buyers didn't know that, or is this a con?

In any case, Trump can't use the three billion for the bond due Monday.

Is Trump lying? On Friday Trump says he has $500M in cash. On Friday Trump sells overvalued Truth Social. Hm-m-m.

In other words, is there any possible reason to believe anything he says?

Republicans were finally able to do something related to governing by passing a funding bill, avoiding a government shutdown, and a brainless Republican from Georgia wants to fire the Republican speaker.

Yes, you read that statement right.

The Post reports, "A 286-to-134 bipartisan vote to approve a $1.2 trillion spending package sent the measure to the Senate on Friday, hours before a midnight deadline to avert a partial government shutdown. The bill would fund roughly three-quarters of the government for the next six months and has the support of President Biden and leaders of both parties in Congress."

NBC reports, "Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Friday filed a motion to oust Speaker Mike Johnson, doing so just as the House voted to avoid a government shutdown.

"The House left for a two-week recess Friday and won’t consider the motion until after it returns, an official familiar with the process told NBC News."

Republicans are quite comical. They needed help from the Democrats to complete their government task of keeping the government open.

No wonder the forum's Republicans are silent. They are embarrassed.

Is the country going to be led by silent, half-educated, uninformed voters from the rural counties of America who are being helped by judges who have delayed all four of Trump's criminal trials. https://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/map/president/

Is the Supreme Court siding with the former President?

Republican Rep. Ken Buck’s last day in Congress is today.

“There is a series of what, I think, are dysfunctions in this institution that I am tired of. And we just covered one — spending — and there are certainly others, but the place doesn't work on behalf of the American people,” Buck explained.

The Republican Party is losing another one.

CNN reports, "GOP Rep. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin will resign from Congress early, handing another blow to Speaker Mike Johnson and his razor thin Republican majority.

"In a statement, Gallagher confirmed he will resign effective April 19.

"The House already has three vacancies – left by two Republicans and one Democrat – and Republican Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado has said he will leave Congress after this week.

"Once Buck and Gallagher leave, Johnson will be down to a 217-to-213 majority, meaning Republicans will only be able to lose one vote with full attendance and still be able to pass legislation."

The Post reports, "Republicans and Democrats in the Senate passed a $1.2 trillion bill early Saturday to fund a majority of the government for the next six months. The 74-24 vote came after an agreement emerged just as the deadline for averting a government shutdown arrived.

"This bill funds roughly three-quarters of the federal government, including the departments of Defense, State and Homeland Security, as well as the IRS and Transportation Security Administration. Congress has already passed separate legislation funding the remaining portion."

Trump and his crony GOP members shut down the govt multiple times for what reason? Oh the Wall. That is an extreme measure especially considering the GOP had all 3 houses their first 2 years.
Trump’s Afghanistan treaty with the Taliban, leaving the Afghan govt out completely.
Soybean tariffs, therefore having to give over $3 billion to our own US soybean farmers.
Unpaid tax cuts leading to massive debt.
What centrist has lied about losing an election?

CNN reports, "For days, Donald Trump’s fury over the requirement to secure hundreds of millions of dollars in bond money by Monday has been bubbling behind the scenes and through a steady stream of social media posts.

"Trump, as he himself noted, does have a significant amount of cash, according to a review of his most recent candidate financial disclosure and personal financial statements.

"It’s a point he made repeatedly in his deposition and testimony during the New York fraud trial."

Prediction: After weeks of front page publicity and thousands of dollars in contributions from naive and uninformed supporters, Trump will come up with the money needed by the court on Monday.

Easy enough

Trump and his crony GOP members shut down the govt multiple times for what reason? Oh the Wall.
That's an outright lie

Here is another

Unpaid tax cuts leading to massive debt.
This one does not pass the sniff test.

It stinks from the first word.

Fact: More than half of Trump's deficits were directly related to COVID.

Fact: Biden cannot claim any of his larger deficits are COVID-driven.

Trump explained his failure to secure wall funding during his first two years in office when Republicans controlled both houses of Congress by saying, “I was a little new to the job.” He blamed “certain people, a particular one, for not having pushed this faster,”

The combination of Trump’s 2017 tax cut and the lack of any serious spending restraint helped both the deficit and the debt soar. So when the once-in-a-lifetime viral disaster slammed our country and we threw more than $3 trillion into COVID-19-related stimulus, there was no longer any margin for error.

CNN reports, "At least 19 people have been killed and 23 injured from Israeli fire on Gaza residents who were waiting for humanitarian aid at the Kuwait roundabout in Gaza City on Saturday, according to the [Hamas] Government Media Office in Gaza."

For all we know all 42 may have Hamas terrorists.

Why is CNN providing casualties reports from Hamas?

Republicans are attempting to hide the truth from readers (posts 2735, 2740, 2742-2747]. Their meaningless posts cause me to repeat important reports.
