A look at the six Baltimore police officers charged in the Gray case - The Washington Post

I wondered about this since the news media didn't say a thing about the race of the police officers all through this. If they were all white that would have been right up front in news accounts.

Identity politics being all important to the media and to liberals in general, one wonders how this will change the dynamic.

Is your post more about the rather childish assumption that all liberals are incapable of having moral and ethical standards or is it about the background of the 6 police?

Wrong is always wrong. Race and political persuasion don't matter. Wrong is wrong.

The racial make-up of the defendants, if the charges have substance, would seem to indicate these violence problems we're seeing in law enforcement are those of culture & structure, not necessarily (or not only) racial in nature.

I do not think the identities of ANY suspects in ANY case should ever be released to the public (except under extraordinary circumstances)

Especially in high profile cases, there will always be huge numbers of people that will assume guilt even if someone charged is found to be completely innocent.

These men's names and pictures should not have been released until after they were convicted (assuming that is the outcome).

And as for reporting the trial - there is no reason that their faces or names need to be released by the press. And all trials should be closed to the public anyway (outside of the press) imo.

Conversely, it also puts a dent in the claim that people only protest when white cops kill black suspects.

I'd bet the majority of the looters assumed all of the cops were white. The identities weren't released until the charges were filed.

That's interesting that three of the officers are black, since that was not brought out in the news media. Instead we, the readers, were convinced it was six white officers against one poor black man.

And do you believe people will stop protesting now?

No, on that you are wrong

You would have to be a complete moron to believe that these animals tearing up the city of Baltimore was not racially based. This was not an issue of police brutality in general. If that man had been white, there would have been no disruption whatsoever. These people want to steal and tear things up. They are bad people and should all be locked up.

Who are "These people want to steal and tear things up. They are bad people and should all be locked up"?

I think he means the people with too much melanin for his liking.

This is your justice system at work. Does this meet your criteria of justice served?

Rioting, color etc. is not an issue now. They have been charged. Defend and the judge delivers the verdict.

Yes it is. The causes are glaring. And it ain't going away.

Poor choice of wording on your part.
So get of that high horse.

And ironic choice of photo on his part. I'm not a big fan of rioting, but if there were any building that deserved to be hit, that would be one.

(Dear haters: Please note the use of the subjunctive tense. Then you may try to respond to me without the use of froth.)

I had to look and see why. I agree.

They have ignored it for decades.

They been sweeping it under the carpet and refuse to acknowledge it is of major concern. Just putting out fires.

The States attorney may have a big problem here proving her overcharges...Not to mention that she has shown her own bias from the start....

This whole thing feels like "railroading"
