A logical question for skeptics...

No, I do not...not yet...not until the resurrection of the last day...even Jesus, who knew he was going to resurrect Lazarus, wept, because he knew illness, suffering, and death was not meant to be a part of human life...

Why Do We Die? - Live Science

We die naturally because our cells die.

After they’ve done their job, billions of cells in your body die each day and make way for new cells.

Old cells age us. Inside a cell, telomeres at the end of each chromosome contain genetic information that gets clipped away with each cell division. At first, telomeres are long enough that they can handle a snip here and a trim there. But after they hit a certain length, the information is lost.

When programmed cell death goes haywire, it can lead to diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

Damage from exposure to ultraviolet light and free radicals also age cells.

But don’t despair. Scientists have extended the lives of flies, worms and mice through genetic tinkering or technology that mimics the effects of caloric restriction. Some research suggests humans could one day live to 140 years of age.

Those attributes can, and were meant to, limit the powers of the creatures but not of the creator.
So it's just a magic proposition that that which limits does not limit [magic being].

You don’t seem to understand this. We mourn loss, not death. We also mourn over lost relationships and lost loves, even when they are still alive. We mourn over losses due to anything that puts an end to close human relationships.
Don't forget mourning the loss of a pet. Just saying.

We all know what opinions are like...everybody's got one...

yes. everybody's got one.

me too.

my opinions are 0 to 99% accurate

better yet, the Truth is 100% accurate

yur choice, choose Wisely.

blessings all, happy new year.

christmas 2.webp...the Wise Men had opinions too, until one day they looked up at The Star in the sky...now they had The Truth.

100% accurate, so they took the Path less traveled and it made all the difference.

we still talk about the Wise Men today.

how about you friend, will your Wisdom last much beyond the next few years? does it matter to you, or do you have opinions?

blessings.

Why Do We Die? - Live Science

We die naturally because our cells die.

better yet Logic, is why do we Live?

the Wise Men above answered that question too back in the day. so can you; you prolly already know the answer to that one.

After they’ve done their job, billions of cells in your body die each day and make way for new cells.

some day all of our cells will die and we make way for new Life that the Wise Men found on their trip to Bethlehem.

you can find New Life closer to home, the same Life the Wise Men have found.

have you looked for new life this season; or is it still the same Road most traveled?

Time and place.
IE, people wrote the words without any outside help.
Just wrote what they wanted others to believe or hope to believe.
Maybe some were coerced? Like some of the NT stuff that Constantine wanted as part of the Nicene council?

How about the latest revelations that Joseph Smith received from god?
How come those words are not taken more seriously by more people?

ALSO, time and place don't help with translations.
And more of the world now speaks English than any other language, so the words to Joseph Smith are more relateable to English speakers.

Asians(chinese), were likely the most populated back in those days, why wasn't any words written in Chinese?
So a greater amount of people would be able to read the original words.

It matters not what day that supposed time will be, the real event is the everlasting life. That should be a joyous event.

After 5000-10,000 yrs, it is well meant to be a part of human life.
In fact, god is omniscient, therefore, man dying was known before god created an. If the omniscient part is accurate.

But man if far far older than the biblical versions of man and death has been a part of living things for several 10,000s of thousands of years. Maybe even 100,000s of thousands.

Unfortunately, truth is 100% subjective.
Belief's are not truth. They are done without evidence.

goood question Pop

two books on that: king james bible, and ............

Life in the Son, by Shank. all amazon stuff, both works on yur question.

blessings.
King James bible are not the accurate supposed words of a god. The OT was written in Hewbrew.

What does the word Alma mean?

Here's another book people can read.

Then that does indeed mean beliefs are truth...

sub·jec·tive
[səbˈjektiv]
adjective

based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions. Contrasted with objective.
"his views are highly subjective" · "there is always the danger of making a subjective judgment"

You may be correct.
For most, truth will have a modicum of evidence.
Beliefs, often times are absent evidence. Which is why the term for religions are a belief and not a truth.
Even though several religions like to claim some form of truth. But the truth is, they don't really know if they are truth or the other religion is truth. They just choose to believe.

I personally, need something more concrete than a belief of a truth.

God's Word says that we were created to live forever and that death is an unnatural enemy brought on by sin...

If death is simply a natural part of life, how do you explain why we feel like we should live forever and why does pain and death seem so unnatural and wrong to just about everyone?

Because we don't want to die.

Pesky cells. They'll be the death of us I tells you.

Look up Pascal's wager.
Pascal's wager has a glaring and fatal flaw, it assumes there only binary outcomes, that either a single person's version of god is real or isn't real.

The reality is that any number of possibilities can exist to make it far worse for believer in a single god or specific god in an afterlife than for the nonbeliever. You could find a jealous god but only jealous of other gods, completely understanding about not believing. You could find there are multiple gods and the Abrahamic god is one but has rivals who don't like specifically that god's followers so if they get to do the judgement of a Christian's life would automatically "fail" them purely for that.

Thou shalt not reduce the argument down to two possibilities.
