Not a Bahraini any longer: the Manama government has revoked the citizenship of 72 people for taking part in protests against Al Khalifa rulers.
The 72 have been convicted of QUOTE harming the interests of the kingdom in demonstrations that started in 2011. Officials say revoking the nationality of the convicts is part of measures to QUOTE fight the danger of terrorist threats. Bahrain is rocked by protests against the long rule of the Al Khalifa dynasty. Manama forces have crushed dissent using force. Scores of people have lost their lives and hundreds injured since protests broke out.

More from the forgotten revolution in Bahrain. The oppressive Barhainain monarchy is now taking the rights of citizenship away from 72 citizens because they dared to speak out against the Saudi and US backed Bahrainian government and monarchy.

I have a feeling that Iran will start funding and training armed insurgence there in the near future.

First iran will want ISIS gone, and then it will count on the protesters in Bahrain to get frustrated with the results of peacefull protest.

Iran does have a deep vested interest in Bahrain, but I dont think they will go so far to train armed insurgence, especially with the military and US interests in the region, especially with the Syrian Civil War and the Iraqi Civil War going on.

Of course, another [Shia] PressTV.ir OP.

Like Iran and its media care about the Human Rights of anyone.
Like expanding Shia-Crescent Iran already isn't in Several Proxy wars in the Middle East.

Iran has sponsord terrorist attacks in Argentina, India, Saudi Arabia and Bulgaria.

Iran has sponserd failed terrorist attacks in the USA.

Iran has assassinated regime critics who lived in exile in France and Britain.

Iran is funding, arming and training one of the worlds most dangerous terrorist organisations in Lebanon.

To assume that iran wouldnt do anything that it has done before is simply naiv and out of touch with reality.

So did Stalin 60 years ago against the nazis.

So did Mao 60 years ago against imperialist japan.

So did the Vietnamese 30 years ago against the Khmer Rouge.

So did the Taliban 30 years ago against the Soviets.

So did the Saudis 20 years ago against Sadam.

My enemies enemy is not my friend.

Does Iran have a common interest in overthrowing the Bahrainian regime? Yes. Will they support an armed uprising? Doubtful.. Iran is more focused on Iraq right now. Bahrian is not a threat like Iraq can be. If anything Bahrian would be a old historical gain than some sort of purposeful gain. Hell much of the opposition is secular in nature.

So now you roll back and try to reframe your suggestion within a limited timeframe?

Do I "roll back"? No. I never made a long term prediction. I said in the near future I dont see Iran taking the actions you laid out ].

Why don't you do the Hemingway thing and go fight with the freedom fighters and make the rebellion work? Maybe you can grab the power then and do the DemSocialism thing.
Or are you pleading the idea we should as a nation support the rebellion and see what happens? Let's not see Syria cleaned up first?

But we certainly have an interesting dilemma in this an many similar situations.
