It is 55 years today since Woodstock was taking place.

Watching the movie again, the contrast between kids today and kids back then was startlingly

I am very serious, where and why we go off tracks?
Life was not nearly as cushy as today and there was not way way more going on.

There was a very big divide between the boomers and the great generation but kids, the boomers respected the great generation.

Today, the word respect is lost post boomers. Maybe because they never had to go to war as the boomers did?

Honestly, what has gone wrong with our youth?

The entire boomer idea was rebelling against the great generation.

How was respect lost? Do you have any examples? Ideas?

Watch the movie again it should remind you.
It was a rebellion against their parents beliefs, not there parents. A very different thing. They never stopped respecting them.
Just read the posts here from the younger posters. They hate and blame all of their trouble on the boomers.
The term boomer is used to insult.
This kind of thing was never done between the boomers and the grear generation and it was the great generation that took a crap on the plant.
Never a word from the boomers, they simply went about cleaning it up.

LOL you are just a self-denying boomer. "oh no no it was actually the GREAT GENERATION who took a crap on the world".

Yeah...nope.

The kids I know are just fine and dandy. Very respectful to the old folks, have jobs, significant others. They, too, like attending concerts and probably smokin' weed and f***kin' like bunnies under the blankets.

They call you sir and mam? Rush to open the door for you?

Let go ahead in lines?

Sorry, not buying it.
When did you ever hear post boomers not blame boomers for their problems?
For pollution? For interest rates? I never have and boomers had it much worse.

This post is clueless.
You never answered my questions.

Why on earth would I let boomers go in front of me at stores. And there was a lot of complaining from you guys after Vietnam. "Oh we didn't get a warm welcome back" BOO ****ING HOO. Crybaby generation and now they're mad that we don't call you sir?

You have proven my point. Thank you.

If you wanna talk about complaining why were vietnam vets mad about their treatment from older generations? Get over it buttercup

Turbulence. Never hate except from the Nixon administration.
Did the good old boys threaten you?
Yes but i am talking about the kids.

No, YOU'RE clueless. Your questions assume fallaciously. There was never a lost of respect
Maybe where you were living, but in most of the United States of America there was Among the political (draft age) kids. It was a distrust of a government that was using *us as cannon fodder. Not necessarily was this lack of respect carried over to our parents.
An editorial *us as I had a 1Y.

Times have changed, people still don’t trust the government. Some governments less than others.

My problem with this generation is a whiney sense of entitlement as well as being dumb as a rock when it comes to any kind of history other than slavery.

I was 9.

I think the kids back then were far more mature than those of today. Parents raised their kids differently. A helicopter mom wasn’t even on the radar.

Your post is disgusting.

Your post is disgusting.
Katie Couric, Uber privileged white woman whose family’s fortunes where made with slavery and promoted the “lost cause”, made the same comment accusing VN vets of being a bunch of crybabies.

How to convince everyone you are winning an argument............................. NOT! Just a cheap shot.
You've made too many cheap shots on this site to even count

Your post is disgusting.
No, it's tongue in cheek. If my good friend noonereal wants to make disparaging comments about the youngins I'll make disparaging comments about his gen

The mantra of my generation was do your own thing and question authority. It was peace, love and understanding and viewing the world in a colorblind way and with a liberal attitude

For Today's generation it is "do OUR thing or we will make you pay". It is "how DARE you question our woke religion!". It is about understanding nothing, hating anything that does match in absolute lockstep and viewing the world in a primitive way where color is just about all that does matter.
