Here is a poignant video that needs to be viewed by people who think GOD has a hammer to hit individuals over the head unless they follow the dictates of any organization that claims to be GOD's emissary with strict rules of protocol.
GOD never meant for one's faith to be scary nor harsh.
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Psalm 56:3 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you."
Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

I learned long ago that faith is not about a bunch of rules and regulations. It's not about following prescribed protocols and rituals. If it were, that reduces God to not much more than a prison warden. Anyone can force someone weaker to obey and comply.

What is the greatest commandment? LOVE!

How does one love without a relationship, based on free will and effective and honest communication?

God gave up some of his power when he gave us the ability to choose love - or not.

If you obtain eternal salvation, it will not be because you followed a bunch of rules. If that were the case, you could make God owe you. "Hey! I followed your rules. Now let me in! I earned it!"

Side note: It also mean Jesus died on the cross for nothing, because you were never in need of a savior.

Raising - indoctrinating - children into any kind of irrationality is mental abuse and should be made illegal.

But, it's perfectly fine to teach/brainwash children to forcibly believe the trinity and Dante's hell.......yeah, that's the ticket to paradise, huh? You're right and they're wrong, huh? Looks more like childish religious pride at work, to me.

lol...this video is a fake...I knew it was the minute he pronounced God's name...Jeeeeehovah...

Altered or synthetic content

Disclosing use of altered or synthetic content

We encourage creators’ innovative and responsible use of content editing or generation tools. At the same time, we recognize that viewers want to know if what they’re watching or listening to is real.

To help keep viewers informed about the content they're viewing, we require creators to disclose content that is meaningfully altered or synthetically generated when it seems realistic.

Creators must disclose content that:

  • Makes a real person appear to say or do something they didn’t do
  • Alters footage of a real event or place
  • Generates a realistic-looking scene that didn’t actually occur
This could include content that is fully or partially altered or created using audio, video or image creation or editing tools.
Risks of not disclosing
It can be misleading if viewers think a video is real, when it's actually been meaningfully altered or synthetically generated to seem realistic.

When content is undisclosed, in some cases YouTube may take action to reduce the risk of harm to viewers by proactively applying a label that creators will not have the option to remove. Additionally, creators who consistently choose not to disclose this information may be subject to penalties from YouTube, including removal of content or suspension from the YouTube Partner Program.

Hilarious considering the GOP are masters of selling fear and aren't they the same group with good christian values?

Does that go for promotion of evolution and abioigenesis. Indoctrination is indoctrination? It's teaching the unknown as though its probable or most likely without being able to demonstrate it or reproduce it. In an educational environment where a child is presented various philosophies, logic, science studies of all sorts, and literature that demonstrates the results of one actions ---- these all blend for an full and honest appraisal of life and seeking truth. If one is going to present this and not balance it with that --- the outcome is that the student, unless strong willed, is being indoctrinated.

So is this AI that says the same thing from the child's perspective? I feel that the original video is a real testimony but done in a way to protect this individual.

I'm not trying to destroy anyone's faith, but the questions has to be answered: Is it true? Why do you believe it? And is it helpful or is it making one feel insecure by being in that faith? There are obviously other questions, but true faith isn't about a feeling of insecurity, or not feeling of being good enough or not being able to share one's true feelings with others. True faith isn't about not regarding everything as being evil and the fear that one's ducks are not all in a row at all times. True faith is founded on the reality that GOD loves each of us just as we are and by allowing HIM to have our lives HE teaches us how to cope with all life's experiences/trials and leads us towards HIM with a fullness of life that doesn't need to be a NO, CAN'T DO, DO THIS, DON"T DO THAT, READ THIS DON"T READ THAT, HEAR THIS BUT DON'T LISTEN TO THAT type of existence. GOD doesn't care what color clothes you wear, or what neighborhood you live in. HE will help those who seek HIS help. And HE doesn't care if you go to someone's birthday party. In fact GOD provides opportunities in life to interact with others and demonstrate GOD love and not HIS regulation and rules. GOD is not against praying with a mixed crowd. Why hide your candle under a basket and not let it shine abroad?

Sounds like you are just trying to close this thread, rather than consider that what is being presented is factual content that expresses the view of MANY former JW's that have left that religion. Did you attend a private Witness school? Did you go to a Witness college or university? If not, why not? Why are you trying to silence such thoughts instead of explaining that such views can be perfectly healthy? Maybe you know that they are not?

Sounds like you are just trying to close this thread,

no....just a new rule for us to follow...

basically when i pick up something from https://www.perplexity.ai/ or gooogle news, i put the address down....

Nipper, that is all you need to do. basically i have always done that most days anyway as i don't always put the full quote into the thread.

Nipper, this basically has always been how DP does things, it doesn't matter where you grab yur content, just attribute the source by cutting and pasting the URL found in yur browser.

carry on Nipper, yur doing a great job here.

Evolution i not magic or 'supernatural'. It is based entirely on evidence not 'faith'. It can be discussed in general and detail.

lol...you sound exactly like Peter...

“Be kind to yourself, Lord" Matthew 16:22

And Jesus response...

"But turning his back, he said to Peter: “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, because you think, not God’s thoughts, but those of men." Matthew 16:23

God gave up some of his power when he gave us the ability to choose love - or not.

Why would an all powerful entity have to give up anything that entity wanted to accomplish?
He gave up the power to compel us because what he wants is an eternal loving relationship with us. That is only possible if we come to that relationship voluntarily of our own free will. He could have forced us into obedience if that is what he wanted, but that's not what he did. He gave us the ability to reject him.

We kill each other around the world, where's the eternal loving relationship? And again, gave up, to me that means your god no longer had the power to changed its mind on the issue. I think the story would sound better if you had used the word chose, he chose, not gave up.

It only says that in the corrupted NWT paraphrase of the Bible. and it wasn't about enjoying one's self. Here is what it actually says in context:
Matthew 16:20-23

20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.

22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”

23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

Oh my, you just can't help yourself, can you? Lie after lie after lie...

Literal Standard Version
And having taken Him aside, Peter began to rebuke Him, saying, “Be kind to Yourself, Lord; this will not be to You”;

Young's Literal Translation
And having taken him aside, Peter began to rebuke him, saying, 'Be kind to thyself, sir; this shall not be to thee;'

Smith's Literal Translation
And Peter having taken him, began to reproach him, saying, Be propitious to thyself, Lord: this shall not be to thee.

Geneva Bible of 1587
Then Peter tooke him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, Master, pitie thy selfe: this shall not be vnto thee.

Bishops' Bible of 1568
And when Peter had taken him aside, he began to rebuke hym, saying: Lorde, fauour thy selfe, this shall not be vnto thee.

Coverdale Bible of 1535
But Peter toke him asyde, and beganne to rebuke him, sayenge: LORDE, fauoure thy self, let not this happen vnto the.

Tyndale Bible of 1526
But Peter toke him asyde and began to rebuke him sayinge: master faver thy sylfe this shall not come vnto the.

“Be kind to yourself, Lord;

The phrase "Be kind to yourself, Lord" comes from a moment in the Bible when Jesus is explaining his impending suffering and death to his disciples

In Matthew 16:22, after Jesus tells them that he must go to Jerusalem, suffer many things, be killed, and then be raised on the third day, Peter takes him aside and says, "Be kind to yourself, Lord; you will not have this happen to you at all."

In essence, Peter is trying to convince Jesus not to face the suffering and death that he knows he must endure. He is attempting to shield Jesus from a painful path.
This phrase highlights a contrast between human and divine perspectives. Jesus knows that his suffering and death are necessary for God's larger plan to be fulfilled. Peter, thinking from a human perspective, focuses on the immediate hardship and expresses concern for Jesus' well-being in a very earthly way.

Science fiction doesn't make one's "natural" views/opinion true. Magic is merely slight of hand (pretend) and NOT supernatural at all. I've read both Bible accounts and read about and viewed archaeological research which promotes discussions of those Bible accounts both in general and in detail. Supernatural events that don't affect anyone are worthless, yet I know of no Christian who claims never to have been blessed in some unexplainable way or another in this life.

So, I don't know what your point is. You were talking the selected verse out of context and applying what Peter said to me in some strange way. Example:

lol...you sound exactly like Peter... “Be kind to yourself, Lord" Matthew 16:22

.It doesn't fit what I stated in the least. Peter is in fact telling JESUS not to do what HE says HE MUST do. JESUS had to do what HE choose to do so that we can be save. Nothing I can do will eternally save anyone. ONLY JESUS SAVES!

The lies within the Witnesses is how they take scripture out of context and manipulate the translation of scripture to suit their views.

It's a tactic in which a bible verse is being weaponized in a manner so you can be referred to/compared to "Satan" without directly calling you/referring to you as being like Satan".
