2020 Debates--First debate,

CN6LEpq.jpg

Ah yes, right out of the Joseph Goebbels playbook, the truth is anything that I say it is.

There are facts, which are unambiguous and there are opinions, which are debatable. When President Trump told the troops in Iraq that, “I got you a big one [pay raise] - 10 percent. Because it’s been a long time. It’s been more than 10 years,” he was bald-face lying. They DIDN’T get a 10% raise and what they did get, had nothing to do with Trump.

Fact check: Trump brags to troops about 10 percent pay raise he didn't actually give them

PolitiFact - Did Donald Trump sign the first military pay raise in 10 years?

It would be great if the debates had instant fact checks scrolling below. Biden is all for it....Trump, not so much.

What Biden means by instant fact checking is having his tele-prompter turned on so he can read from it, because he can't remember a thing. I'm still on the side of the democarts will find a way to stop the debates.

You're really not very good at this. lol

My bet is that Biden will find some sort of excuse to skip them, be it a COVID-19 infection (one he'll fully recovery from) or something else.

His reading from teleprompter to answer simple questions posed to him doesn't bode well for him being able to handle a single debate, much less 4, much less the duties of the office of president.

I bet that your bet is wrong.

Of course, given that Trump didn't win a single debate four years ago, and the idiot Republican base still cheered him on...they won't matter in the slightest.

Meh. We'll see.
If Biden does step out on that debate stage, how long is his focus last?
How long before he bumbled through an completely incoherent sentence? And how many of those sentences are there going to be?

Meh. Your opinion of who won those debates noted.
What's not opinion is who won that election.

Oh the irony of a Trump supporter spouting this nonsense.

You and your fellow Republicans cockiness will be your downfall.

So noting of substance to the topic from you? Oh. OK.

You and your fellow Republicans cockiness will be your downfall.

I'm not cocky in the least. I'm rather disgusted with what the left is purporting, what public policies and social policies they are purporting.
Their drive to dismantle the checks and balances of the federal government which has seen us well through to today, in search of absolute power, and you know what they say about that, right?

You didn't post anything of substance. Just talking points repeated daily by your political masters.

You're "disgusted" with the left because they don't fall back and allow the GOP to steamroll the country with their garbage policies, and Trump's nationalist/fascist agenda.

Sorry man, but you're not getting permanent Republican rule no matter how much you whine about mythical 'socialists".

No, I don't want 'nationalist/fascist agenda'. In fact, I'd welcome a classical or traditional liberal balance, but not the radical public policy prescriptions presently being proffered by the left.

You need to stop consuming the media which is lying to you and spinning it that way.

I want government to leave me the **** alone, let me conduct my life as I see fit by my own decisions, and take as little of the money that I earn as is possible (that'd be my libertarian streak).

List which policies or actions from this administration which are truly nationalist/fascist.
I think you may find those public policy proposals are coming from your political side.
  • Disband the Senate filibuster (minority voice in the Senate)
  • Cramp down environmental over reaction (The New Green Deal - economically and financially unfeasible)
  • Make Critical Race Theory the policy guidance of the nation - only to further divide the electorate into combating tribes - we see that in the riots and the destruction they wrought
  • Grow government power as, we've seen during the Obama administration, when the number of federal regulations exploded, hamstringing people in living their lives, making their own decisions (the left doesn't make better decisions than ordinary people - far from it)

No, me thinks I've got a far firmer handle on what's going on than you. Sorry, I know it must come as a terrible shock to you.
But  You side seriously sucks worse than nearly any alternative.

So many talking points in one post.

Let me reiterate again, the only importance to you is whether that candidate has a R next to their name. That's about all your laughable partisan crap amounts to.

Instant fact checking could be bias and will be, opinions will be fact checked and shouldnt be, it also slows down the debate into a no-debate while the fact checkers check the facts and then argue the facts, the whole thing will become a circus, which would suit the Biden campaign, unfortunately people will see it for what it is.

Besides, there will be no debate. Pelosi will make sure of that.

Well, there we have it, because lawyers never stretch the truth or tell lies. In fact, lawyers are the only ones in court who get to tell falsehoods. Everyone else it's perjury.

In the video, I saw lots of smoke and mirrors in an effort to discredit Politifact. Even if true, in this instance, we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Politifact can make a mistake and that doesn't mean they are always wrong.

Biden debating TRump is a big mistake.

You cannot win a debate with a liar.

Look at all the message boards today... it is no longer about what side of the issue you are on, it is that the truth is no longer truth.

People fight about what truth is.

You cannot win a debate in such a world.

Biden should simply not debate and state the reason, because Trump is a pathological liar so there is no point.

the irony here just simply cannot be missed folks.
biden is a pathological liar as well.

the fact that you fail to point this out tells us all that the truth doesn't really matter much to you.
the only thing that matters is who doing the lying.

Pot meet kettle.

What a stupid post.

How on earth can you win a debate with a liar who does not even talk honest about what position you and he take?

Truth is no longer universal.

If truths were universal as they were pre TRump, yes you could, not now.

If we had a serious country, Biden shouldn’t even bother. I know the trump doods will jump up and down about this, but what is the point? IT’s not even about gain or standing. Trump just lies about everything, and when he’s not lying he makes up bat**** stuff that of course there’s no response to. The correct response to someone saying the things Trump does is to put a dollar in his cup and hope he has family somewhere looking for him.

Biden has to brush up on unicorns, elves, leprechauns... if he is going to debate TRump.

To me, a waste of valuable time.

So it's OK by you that Politifact, a fact checking website, uses spin in incorrect phrasing to give a false impression to their readers...

LMAO... Lovely.

That backs up exactly why I don't support live fact checking during a presidential debate.

.

Last night everyone saw why Trump folks don’t want fact checking.

His Orcs don't respect facts.

They are meaningless.

And that’s the problem. They don’t even care about the debate per se. They think Trump is gonna roast Biden with the mods standing there clapping for it.

They just want to hear Trump call Biden names. That’s it.
