102 Things NOT To Do If You Hate Taxes

Sorry, I did not understand this.

The founders themselves said many times the goals of the obligations of the government. What the Hoover Dam provides for the people would not be included under those obligations.

I think the founders would be very pleased with Hoover dam.

I'm not going to speak on their personal feelings about something that happened after they died, but according to their words on taxes they would not agree with the use of it going to the building of a dam.

It simply does not advance any of the obligations they put down.

The problem is not the Hoover Dam, but the hundreds of other dams that were built purely as pork projects. They were tremendous wastes of money and manpower that, in many cases, were ecologically devastating while providing little or no benefit to the public. The Tennessee Valley Authority is an embarrassment for the US; if that is what we will call success... then we're doomed.

O, the Sacred Intent Of The Founders. If we had strictly adhered to them, the Cherokee would own Hoover Dam.

The TVA provides electricity to a large segment of rural America. How does this embarrass you?

The TVA provided lots of cheap power to an area that didn't have enough at the time. And construction of the dams and other power stations created jobs.

Maybe that's why Tennesseeans really like the TVA.

How would the founders be against using tax payer dollars to invest in our national industry?

They made it clear what areas tax revenue was to go towards. I don't need to say anything more.

It helps explain the purpose of taxation and what it is to go towards. Its has plenty reason to be said. Bringing up strawmen that have to do with other areas of the constitution is irreverent.

And I'm sure you actually agree with moving the Cherokee all of a sudden.

Well, my sense of geography does suck, I'll admit it.

Let's go back to no income taxes, as they established, and you can invest your tax dollars any way you like.

that's true, we have to have income taxes to support all the govt handout programs. handouts to the poor, handouts to the starving children in guatemala, handouts to the people dying of AIDS in africa, handouts to the auto industry so they can keep paying their union workers outrageous salaries, handouts to the banks so they can keep giving mortgages to people they know can't afford them, handouts to any and everyone who has a hand out.
