#1 in a landslide

If you’re trying to minimize the importance of viewing FoxNews (during those hours) then use the 330M+ US population vs. those 2.3M FoxNews channel viewers. ;)
I could have used the other 115 other station's listeners too, but I didn't need to go beyond what the OP provided to make the point. 😉

Your point was nothing more than pointing out that having a plurality is not the same as having a majority.

Beat me to it
Beat me to it and your handle is scrambled eggs?

Seems the conservatives on this board don't appreciate the obvious contradiction of chronically, perpetually whining about the mainstream media that has it in for all their candidates, while at the same time boasting about how much more popular their media outlets are to those of the so called MSM. And they still won't get it even having had it spelled out to them.

Silly @KLATTU, Fox News is actually the least trusted news source among mainstream media outlets.

Poll: Voters trust ABC, CNN most, Fox News least among mainstream news outlets

The simple fact is, the choices for right wing news/propaganda are very limited compared to news sources with a liberal/moderate bias.

When viewership numbers from each preference are combined and measured against each other, right wing numbers pale significantly by comparison.
What really strikes me are the unsure numbers for both OANN and Newsmax. Combine the unsure and distrust numbers and that's three quarters of the viewers. If it smells like shit, it probably is shit.

So you didn't miss the point.

Good for you.

Adding the entire population of the country wouldn't change the point. It would just be an inaccurate representation of the viewership.

I'm not sure we can ever depend on news. Forming an opinion requires a bit of work.

This is where we have the nexus of the conservatives and the religious right...the Bible tells people their opinion and how to think...this works well for many conservatives.

Are people under 18 being included? Why? Even if you want to make a case for 16, not much difference

And of course, then take the number of that population in the eastern time zone only...that was the poll, right?

I'm curious which demographics have cable service.
I don't, because I watch anything I'm interested in on the internet.

I'm wondering if people who would be more likely to watch some of those channels further down the list don't because they don't have cable.

The fact remains that those FoxNews programs topped the ratings list, by how much or even why is unimportant.

It’s as ‘real’ as noting that a plurality is not a majority, which was the point. See post #60.

Why do you think popularity somehow relates to credibility?

Circuses are popular.

Are they credible?

Professional wrestling (WWE) is way more popular than actual wrestling. But you realize the popular one is the fake one right?

The fact that Fox "news" is popular suggests it is entertainment not news.

Don't you see that?

"Comments"? - My "comment"/guess is that most of those who have been imprisoned for their deeds. behaviors, actions. crimes committed at the U.S. Capitol on 1/06/2021 were/are part of those 2.333 million viewers who made FOX NEWS "#1 in a landslide" during "prime time" talking heads viewership.

Here's an idea: Why don't we argue over who was the greatest minor league baseball player of all time?

That's what you're doing here. First, the vast majority of viewers get their daily news dose from one of the big three broadcast news outlets (ABC, CBS, NBC). Any one of these network outlets wipe the floor with FOX News' ratings. Together, they draw more viewers than all the cable news outlets combined.

Nielsen live-plus-same-day averages for the week of Dec. 5, 2022:

Evening News
ABC
NBC
CBS
• Total Viewers:
8,512,000
7,070,000
5,159,000

I don't have cable but is Turner Network the same as TCM? I do enjoy watching some good Hitchcock and Kubrick films.

Oh, yes!

The American people are not stupid.

They know that when they want the actual news, FOX is the only destination.

And it is an open secret that a lot of avowed liberals who publicly condemn FOX watch it for the news that is censored by the "mainstream" media.

If the Dems win the Presidency and both Houses in 2024 (which seems likely), they will find some way to close down FOX.

I think it shows most thinking people don't rely on prime time cable for their "news". It's not news it's entertainment and there is much more out there that is truly entertaining !

I rarely watch TV anymore. The only reason I bought a TV and have a YouTube TV subscription is to watch football and I don't do that as much as I used to. If I watch news on TV it's usually local news or the Weather Channel. I'll occasionally flip back and forth between CNN and MSNBC on nights when there's a major election, but that's it.

Fox News is popular because people who sit on their asses all day and yell at the screen are generally grumpy white people over the age of 50 and Fox News caters to that demographic.
