I didn't dismiss MAGA back in 2016. They brought up some decent points and there was a chance Trump would be different. I was open minded (even if I didn't agree with his tactics and vulgarity). The US is going through an authoritarian phase. It's unfortunate, but the US is not necessarily doomed. Trump is almost certainly not popular enough, especially with the military, to engineer a coup or completely violate the Constitution with a 3rd term. However, people who don't want the US to fall into dictatorship need to get off the couch and start protesting.

We have very similar lives...I don't have to respond by telling mine for it's almost exactly the same as yours. Rock and roll, country, hard work, hard fun, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Turning 66 next month.
