The trump people are coming unhinged and want violence. Why is it that their first response to things is violence?

Of course they are. I bet blue collar wives across a wide swathe of red state territory are nursing shiners by now as well.
 
I've been saying it for a while. Handcuffs now, or bullets later. Those are the options we have to save this country from the new rise of the nazis.

These are MAGAs we are talking about. They can’t even get their own life in order without running to Daddy Donald to fix their problems for them. These are people who became whining puddles of cowardice at the thought of a needle jab or mask. If they can’t adapt to economic and societal change over the course of decades, they won’t be able to react to our armed forces standing up to them without a moment’s hesitation.

We’ll be fine.

Yet their threats of violence are miniscule in comparison to the US's threats of violence and violence perpetrated on the global level.

Because they claim to believe that any time they lose an election, it is because they were cheated. If the systems of political representation are that corrupt, violent revolution is the only answer. Of course, I have my doubts over how many actually believe that they truly have a popular majority mandate, or are just using it as a pretext to enact violence against those who have aggrieved them.

What is the point of going after the children and family of the AG of the United States?

Why harm them? What sort of "justice" will come from harming innocent people?

I don't get it. If they want civil war, they will lose. Just as they did in 1865.

The same reason Nazi collaborators shot the children of their Jewish neighbors right in front of their parents before executing the rest of the family. The same reason otherwise hitherto law-abiding white Oklahomans massacred their well-to-do black neighbors and burned down their homes and businesses in Tulsa's Black Wall Street in 1921. It is done out of boiling resentment combined with a feeling of victimization turned into sadistic hatred.

Actually there could be handcuffs and bullets at the same time. The Secret Service will bring Grand Marshals because both the FBI and DOJ know the Proud Boys are coming.

It's fair to say red states are over-represented.

However given that right wing extremists also tend to be domestic abusers it's a no brainer. Men who think they have guns to challenge the government or who put their muscle behind a would-be dictator, raiding the capitol, assaulting the police, planning to murder officials, supporting an attempted coup and shitting on the carpet are frankly just more likely to have a history of violence at home.
 
I work a blue collar job and I decided to broach the subject with a couple people today.

One threatened civil war and made reference to “the boogaloo”.

This is a pervasive belief among theses types. these aren’t your low taxes and small government conservatives. These are nut jobs that have been fed a steady diet of propaganda, right wing lies, and they are about as stable as the stable genius

I think they must identify all those posters, lock them up and revoke their internet privileges. Maybe they are all spit and no spine but that is some nasty stuff right there. How can they think they get away with that?

It’s their choice and decision to Babbitt themselves out of the gene pool. I hope they don’t, but it’s their choice. Fortunately we can replace them with higher quality immigrants.
