It’s obviously lazy police work because they didn’t take the time to investigate if the people that they were going to search even lived at the residence. It isn’t lazy police work and you can never prevent what happened here unless we have a surveillance State where the government and law enforcement know where everyone is all the time. It isn’t law enforcement’s fault that the previous tenants got out of dodge without a forwarding address before the warrant could be executed.
They did it to the wrong people. It doesn’t appear that anyone’s rights were violated. If there was a valid warrant served at a valid address then there was probable cause and the search was reasonable.
You mean like $3000 in one's purse?Nonsense. They had the misfortune of moving into a property that had an active warrant against it. It’s just that simple. As for their property, I’ll never understand why people run around with their life savings in cash but civil asset forfeiture is highway robbery. That’s not unique to this case so its neither here nor there though.
MAGA doesn't care.
They didn’t even knock. They just busted the door in.It’s obviously lazy police work because they didn’t take the time to investigate if the people that they were going to search even lived at the residence.
I love this railing against a surveillance state in service to the police being able to whoopsie doodle knock your door in with weapons drawn and take a bunch of your shit.
Usually a warrant will include “electronic communications devices” so that would include phones and computers.Except that's bullshit.
Here is the text of the 4th amendment:
Were these peoples' phones listed in the warrant? I bet they weren't.

of course he is. and he is not alone.
Until a few of their doors are busted in, there will be no joy in Mudville.
Only for the people listed on the warrantUsually a warrant will include “electronic communications devices” so that would include phones and computers.
Not necessarily. If the devices are in the place to be searched then they are fair game. Nothing says devices couldn’t have been left behind or transferred to other people.Only for the people listed on the warrant
In this case you would be wrong....why? Because this isn't the people they were looking for and they KNEW it.Not necessarily. If the devices are in the place to be searched then they are fair game. Nothing says devices couldn’t have been left behind or transferred to other people.
This is the Stasi that the MAGAs begged for.In this case you would be wrong....why? Because this isn't the people they were looking for and they KNEW it.
How did they “know” it at the time?In this case you would be wrong....why? Because this isn't the people they were looking for and they KNEW it.
Because the woman told them and they had her ID that clearly did not match the names of the people that they were looking for.How did they “know” it at the time?
Once they checked her ID and with the rest being kids it should have been sorry ma’am previous occupants were who we are looking for and left. Instead they continued to steal everything of value and literally destroyed the homeAnd the cops had no justification for checking whether her story and ID were valid?
They didn’t “steal” anything and if the house was a mess after the search that can be taken care of easily enough. The one thing I did notice in the video was broken glass which indicates a forced entry. The reasons for a forced entry are few. Either the occupant refused entry or the warrant was for an expected violent offender.Once they checked her ID and with the rest being kids it should have been sorry ma’am previous occupants were who we are looking for and left. The busted in walls, door and windows aren’t easily taken care of when they stole their phones, laptops and money and yes, its theftThey didn’t “steal” anything and if the house was a mess after the search that can be taken care of easily enough. Until we know what the warrant was for it’s unreasonable to assume that the cops were in any way out of line.
The warrant was for people who no longer live there.Until we know what the warrant was for it’s unreasonable to assume that the cops were in any way out of line.
He’s been told this multiple times. He thinks it’s okay for ICE to do thisThe warrant was for people who no longer live there.
Is that a fact? I haven’t seen that a copy of the warrant was released so if you have access to it I’d ask that you point me in that directionThe warrant was for people who no longer live there.
