AOC definitely has the ability to be the left wing Trump. And I wonder if the hatred of her will meme her into the presidency she's way more charismatic and less of a drunk than Harris is. So she has that going for her. The only problem I see from the actual party itself about the voters but the people who control what the party is. He railroaded Sanders because he was too far left and will they do that to AOC I'm not sure. Do I think that she will win if she runs for president it's hard to say. The more socialist leaning left is definitely vocal. But loud doesn't equal numerous so it would be interesting to see what happens. I think you have a nuisance is a much better all arounder candidate but will probably lack some of the diehard support maybe that winds up hurting him should he be nominated.

The Democratic party is at a very interesting crossroads and it seems like the choice between newsome and AOC exemplifies that crossroads.

They dont seem to run much, or get near frontrunner status. Gephardt and Kemp come to mind. They didn't get too far.

It would be a hoot to have you in a room with her one on one and observe the results. Sounds like throughout this thread you have been trying VERY hard to convince us of how dumb she is. If you had any idea of what you sound like carrying on like this, you might have 2nd thoughts about your approach, but then again, it would take a SMART person to realize when they are making a fool of themselves.

I'd love to see AOC as the democrat's candidate in 2028. I don't see it happening. I do see a possible run for Chuck Schumer's seat.

Look, I like Hillary in a general sense. She is an excellent policy wonk.
But that isn't enough, she is too arrogant and too institutionalized.
She did not charm the people the way she needed to.

Sorry. I don't take you seriously in that regard. You are far too biased to the far left. And if you are truly a Canadian, you do not have a dog in this hunt. I will point out that the democrats do not have a winning record in regard to nominating women for president. And AOC is simply Harris 2.0. Neither of the two can think on their feet.

Plenty of people made similar assumptions about Obama.

The thing is....
- She's actually pretty moderate; in Europe, she'd practically be a centrist. Probably the most radical item on her docket is "Medicare for All," which is actually pretty popular.
- The right wing will attack ANY Democrat, no matter how moderate, as a "radical socialist."
- The people who AOC "rubs the wrong way" almost certainly weren't going to vote for a Democrat anyway.
- She's very smart, pretty charismatic, very good with her online presence, and has had a few years dealing with right-wing crap
- It is possible there will be a strong reaction against the vileness of today's Republican Party in 2028.
- The nature of the presidency, along with the need to repair the damage inflicted by Dear Leader, will likely prevent her from getting anything too far left passed.

I think she'd be a good President.

I will admit, though, one reason I'd want her to win is to watch an utterly epic MAGA meltdown. 😃

That's all MAGAs got. Disparaging statement no matter who were talking about. This is what I see as a possibility. Right now, the American electorate has been and is putting up with the right. If Trump keeps on his crusade for another 3 years at the rate he's going, the Trump supporters will sour on his BS. We already see Trumpers pulling away, and not by small numbers.

Anything can happen in 2028, and I guarantee it will surprise a lot of folks.
