Cheney was also among a handful of Republicans in the House and Senate who voted to impeach trump for inciting the deadly Capitol attack, making his second impeachment the most bipartisan in US history.

Cheney’s criticism of trump has made her a Republican pariah, losing a leadership role, and her position has become a proxy war in the broader fight for control of the Republican party between trump and his allies and more traditional figures – one that the trumpist forces are largely winning.

In a statement on Thursday, trump endorsed Harriet Hageman in the Republican primary for Cheney’s seat ahead of midterm elections next year. He also called Cheney “the Democrats [sic] number one provider of sound bites” and a “warmonger and disloyal Republican”.

Will be interesting to see if Liz wins. If she does win, that means trump is weaker than thought.

The polls dont look very good for her. 77% said they would vote for someone other than her.

I think if she won it would be a huge hit to his standing and hold on the Repub/Trumpist party, but it's a million to one shot...

Odds are that will not happen.

The writing is on the wall, and even though not every Republican is a Trumpist conspiracy theory lunatic Republican there have been renewed efforts by those within the Republican establishment to kick out anyone not compliant with their intentions.

Wyoming is as red as it gets, and if the small voter block in that state is convinced one of their own will not help them... out they go.

The Republican Party used to love her. This shows all they care about now is their fake god Trump the Terrorist, not the party's 1980s conservative ideology.

You gotta admit she's got great style.

I think it goes beyond Trump now. Their own elected leadership is still peddling the lies about Covid and the Election! Once republican voters see through these grafting, gutless twit's wind following then there might be some hope.

If you read the actual poll and not a Trump based website its good for her.

"The firm admits, however, that 23% would be good enough to win her the nomination if none of the challengers drop out"

False and stupid.

Which doesnt change a thing I said. You know that, right?

Wyoming GOP leaders say they no longer recognize Cheney as party member

The GOP groups of two Wyoming counties have both voted to no longer recognize Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) as a member of the Republican Party, the latest moves against the congresswoman months after she voted to impeach former President Trump.

Martin Kimmet, the chairman of the Park County Republicans, wrote in a Thursday letter to Cheney, “You will no longer be recognized as the official Republican Congressional Representative by the Park County Republican Party,” according to the Casper Star-Tribune.
The Carbon County Republicans followed this move by voting unanimously to back a formal resolution denouncing Cheney.
Carbon County GOP Chairman Joey Correnti told the Star-Tribune, “Park County set up the ball, Carbon County spiked it.”

“And now other counties, I say by the end of the week you’ll have at least three or four other counties that are having meetings that will pass a similar resolution,” Correnti said, adding that Republican parties in Uinta, Big Horn, Laramie and Weston counties have requested copies of his county’s resolution.

She is finished as a republican in Wyoming!

Yep. I noticed the same inconvenient to Trumpsters fact.

Then there’s this;
Cheney’s fundraising haul of $3.1 million in just the first half of 2021 is her personal best. She has more than five times the cash on hand as all of her competitors combined.

When the Washington Examiner spoke to a dozen Wyoming voters in June for a profile of Cheney’s race, not one could name a single candidate running against her

Based on fundraising and polling, the top three are State Sen. Anthony Bouchard of Cheyenne, State Rep. Chuck Gray of Casper and Cheyenne attorney Darin Smith. Bouchard and Smith are receiving many of their donations from out-of-state contributors who want to see Cheney humiliated, while Gray’s top donor is, well, Gray. The right-wing broadcaster raised $220,000 in the second quarter, but $165,000 came from loans he made to his campaign.

Still, no guarantee Cheney will hold onto her seat, but reason not to count her out.

“'tis a consummation devoutly to be wish'd”

Politicians representing roughly 15% of the state’s total population is worth noting, not dispairing.

Koch and his associates have been 40 years destroying the GOP in order to push
Fascism on the USA. The GOP per se is too far gone to rehabilitate.

Liz Cheney cannot rehabilitate because her father and the GHW Bush family have been part of the destruction. It is dead realize it. The New World Order Global Economy is fascism.

I don't have any hope that they'll wise up. We waited for years for the fever to break and it just got worse. Then they got Trump and completely divorced themselves from reality.

Then it's imperative to stop them from winning any future election.

Actually it does, you claimed the poll showed Cheany was in trouble but the fact is even when she was super popular she only got 40% of the vote in a crowded field. She is as of right now the large front runner

Now shes down to 23%. Shes in trouble and she knows it whether you know it or not is irrelevant

The only thing she did was criticize Trump and the GOP has completely turned its back on her.
Thats hardly all she did. Turn off CNN
