  • They've only interfered in our politics once (through their representative, the governor general), and it was warranted. And we don't pay taxes to them, so we don't have to pay for it either.
 I'd prefer the monarchy to a president, it means the head of state is removed from partisan politics and can act without bias when called for. But who wants to discuss politics on this site.
We're not under the British Crown, we're under the Australian Crown, just 'cause it's the same chick is irrelevant.
 I would never make a joke like that. But I have had kangaroo (and I have it regularly), and it is one of the best meats you can get, it is juicy, and tender, and has a great flavour, and I highly recommend it.
I posted the one already. You want me to post the one you made about your canine partner as well?
I need to get my ass out of bed. Hey, I was looking at your profile. You need to join the permission group "The Wanderers". That'll open up the Tavern for you.
Ahh, that's right, the sandbox. Well, you have to come up with a good nickname for Afghanistan, you know! ;) You'll be famous!

I know in my heart that they have heart, but I said earlier to my cousin, who is completely cynical about all of this: "I choose to be an optimist, occasionally disappointed by the outcome, than to be a pessimist and never be encouraging for people to try for the best." I counter the idea that history is full of examples of popular revolutions that get subverted by repressive forces, with the idea that history is ALSO filled with examples of revolutions that do result in real democracies (Latin America, Eastern Europe). It will never be a 100% guaranteed outcome, but that is no reason not to try. The status quo will not stand.
yeah my nephew is a captain in the SF-where he is right now I dont know, when he gets to town we do some shooting
Doing great! Totally inspired by events in Egypt, and not very concerned with the Islamists. The Arab Street has spoken. As Tashah said, it is a tsunami. I am quite disappointed by the cynicism and realism of many conservatives here the US. They have no heart and are at odds with our principle of being the "Shining City on the Hill". I like Obama's instincts to support the demonstrators. ****, maybe I AM a ****ing liberal.

So how is Afghanistan? What do you nickname the country? I suppose Iraq was a Dust Bowl. Is AFG Poppy Mountain? ;) Have a good one!
Some people don't have a clue where they stand, or are trying to be slick trolls. I mock them and move on personally.
I always question when someone starts a thread stating their conservative credentials but then goes against them, or liberal. I slam them if I see them too.

"Gee, does it make me a bad conservative if I supported Obama and think his agenda is right? I believe we need to use the Government to help all of us. But I'm for lower taxes!!"

    Roll... Eyes.
:D I loved being in, but I could have/should have waited to go into the Marines. Being trained to be a real warfighter plus the Esprit de corps makes for the excellence of your organization, IMHO. I did get the opportunity to work as a variety of MOSs, which I do not think the Marines necessarily offer: Track Mechanic, Supply Clerk, Communications, and my all time favorite, Intelligence Analyst. I tried to rejoin in 2005 as an Intel Analyst, since FM 3-24: Counterinsurgency highlights its importance to winning the fight. Full credit and honor to the Marines for inventing the 3-block war and proving it in practice WAY before the Army even knew such a word existed. All future conflicts will be counterinsurgencies in the Gap. Semper Fi.
Paul Hogan's a funny bastard, he used to do sketch comedy before the Croc Hunter films. And the first film is alright, the others suck.
