tax increases on corporations and those earning above $1 million annually? What's wrong with that?

What's wrong with it is corporations don't actually pay taxes - people do. Every corporate tax ends up being paid by someone: higher prices for consumers, lower wages for workers, and smaller returns for investors.

Okay.

So what? What's the problem? You don't like elections or the people deciding what they want?

So what? I guess you just decided NOT to read the whole posted response.

This is why I almost NEVER respond to your nonsense posts. I'll keep doing that from now on. :coffee:

To what do you attribute Zohran Mamdani's insane popularity across the board?

Why do you need to ask when you know the reason. IMO this is a breath of fresh sweet chocolate to the senses of New York Voters that have cheated by the rich for too many years.

He is often compared to Trump, who has also tapped into voters' discontent and feelings of being cheated.

Once in office he will likely defund the police, push for soft on crime initiatives, and pretty much all the socialist policies that all the Leftist Sanctuary cities have, turning NYC into one more example of a hellhole of migrant terror and crime than it already is.
Clealry you have no idea what authorities a Mayor has over major spending decisions.

I agree.

Mamdani is an openly declared Socialist, although he is running on the Democrat ticket. He's making the same promises that Brandon Johnson did in Chicago, and Karen Bass did in Los Angeles. Just look at how those two made out so far.

I am betting that he is also getting a lot of funding from people like George Soros, Warren Buffet, Pierre Omidyar, Michael Bloomberg, and Tom Steyer to name a few. https://www.mrc.org/soros-clones-5-liberal-mega-donors-nearly-dangerous-george-soros
How much did Elon spend on the presidential election?
