IMO the Democrats have bought themselves a loser and are now stuck with it.

In my former life in court work. I would at times attempt to piss off the opposite attorney (I was a paid witness, not an attorney) so badly that they focused on me rather than their case. If that happened, they lost.

That's what has happened to the Democrats over the past 3 years. Except they've done it to themselves all by themselves. And they will lose.

It’s great that you admit this whole clown show was a political tactic and continues to be so. Anyone remotely savvy with politics knows that this mess is most likely going to backfire on the Democratic Party.

I’m not a big fan of Trump but the political theater with this non-politician is more than welcome. I’m astounded that he’s gotten anything done in his first term with being under the unprecedented microscope with every breath.

I’m hoping for the ultimate show under the big top that is DC politics and with the liberal controlled media. Trump gets re-elected and the lunatic left losses the majority in the house. The now stream of tears with their feelings hurt because the election of 2016 didn’t go their way will turn into a raging river with the runoff of snowflakes melting and all the crying.

1. The house must pass the articles of impeachment. These are nothing more than charges and accusations.

2. The senate must find him guilty or innocent of those charges. In order to find him guilty the senate needs 67 senators to vote in favor of the articles.

If that happens then the president is actually impeached.

If 67 senators do not vote in favor it means that the president is not guilty and is innocent of the charges levied against him.

We were actually attending the civics class. You weren't, obviously, because while berating others here, YOU are the one who got it wrong. You are mixing up impeached with removed from office. Remember a guy called William Jefferson Clinton, a.k.a. Bill Clinton? He was impeached, but he wasn't removed from office.

Impeachment is the sole responsibility of the House. It is akin to an indictment. So, yes, Donald Trump has been impeached.
Now the trial happens in the Senate, where he likely won't be convicted, therefore won't be removed from office.
But that won't change the fact that he was impeached.

It's not "in order to impeach a president etc." like you said.
In order to REMOVE a president, he needs to, 1. Be impeached by the House and 2. Be convicted by the Senate. Both conditions are necessary for removal.
Trump has had condition 1.
Likely he won't have condition 2.
But that doesn't cancel the fact that he has had condition 1, which is attached to his name, forever. He now belongs in the list of the 3 US presidents who have been impeached. He won't belong in the list of presidents impeached AND removed from office. That list is empty, so far.
Get it now?
If you don't, kindly go back to Civics 101, or read a good encyclopedia article on the topic.

On 12/20, those 5 networks mentioned impeachment 71 times on their sites.

12/21, a Saturday, and we're down to 36. I have a feeling impeachment will lay lower until Monday - the weekends are when the news tells us how white heteros hate everyone: The Des Moines lady who ran over the Mexican, and JK Rowling's refusal to believe a man is a woman because the man decides to be a woman.

I am quite sure Nancy knows the rules of impeachment. She will not hold off forever. She is using whatever leverage she has to insure a fairer trial. The whole point here is to out the testimony of some of Trumps closest people involved with this conspiracy. It's all about educating the people. We all know it's a cold chance in hell he will be convicted. But he will be forever stained by impeachment. That's the best we can hope for when you have a republican majority in the senate that is willing to put party above country.

They will take their trial oaths and violate them as the trial concludes. Republicans cheat. Everyone knows that. Moscow Mitch is the head cheater. We'll beat them at the polls.

The longer it stays in the press, the less coverage there is for democratic candidates. Gotta prop up Old Joe somehow I suppose.

Why would it end up in court? The Senate has sole power of trial in an impeachment. Nothing for a court to rule upon.
Why was It so important to impeach Trump, but not very important to actually remove him?
