I kinda feel like I saw this left split coming. The trouble with Corbyn is he’s a backbencher at his best and isn’t prepared to make a tough decision.Jeremy Corbyn confirms talks about forming new party with Zarah Sultana
Corbyn says ‘discussions are ongoing’ after MP’s surprise announcement but he is understood to be reluctant to take title of party leaderwww.theguardian.com
Im all for a bigger left wing voice. But I do think this will just work for the likes of reform.
Zara and jezza might be better advised to infiltrate the Greens.
The bungled launch is typically Corbyn and quite endearing, Good luck to them.

Good, just like us y'all need an actual left-wing party that is actually pro working class, not xenophobic and anti genocide.
Reform (or more to the point UKIP and it´s various incarnations) are actually a great example here. They have basically been the most influential party of the last decade given that Brexit has been the greatest change in national policy we have lived through. I see no reason that this can´t happen on the left.
Well Labour is mainly paid and owned by the Unions. The reason these things usually "can't happen on the left" is often down to money.
The ownership class are usually all too happy to sponsor right wing populist parties because they serve the purpose of furthering the divide-and-conquer class warfare strategy. That same dynamic does not exist on the populist left (see Zohran Mamdani).

Yea there are many "anti-immigration" on the left as well... but many of them are "anti-immigration" because these immigrants supposedly lower wages and/or take jobs from locals. Of course there are also racist lefties, but my experience with "lefties" across Europe who are against mass immigration tend to be more against it on "labour" issues, not religious/racist issues. The "Left" in the UK is not a simple homogenous mass either, many left leaning people I speak with in real life are just as much anti-immigration as some of the right wing people I meet. Whichever party can win or make real headroom with the public in this area will win the next election and right now - Reform is hoovering up these potential voters.
Denmark is giving out education visas to 300 students from the 3rd world/middle east because we lack workers in Denmark. The first comments from my right wing Danes was of course.. but but they are Muslim..and were against it of course, despite it was in part the right wing government parties that proposed it.. but hey!
My bad.. was Africa. 230 per year students will get access to Danish universities. And what the **** is a Mahometan? Are we Christupid then? Why did the government extend 300 visas just to middle east? Given a selection of say Han Chinese, non Mahometan sub Saharan Africans, central and south American Christians, a Dane may very well chose to take his chances with anything but Mahometan.

That in a nutshell was the reason Brexit won. Hairdressers, joiners, carpenters, plumbers and builders were all unhappy at being undercut by Poles and other Eastern European workers who came here in the 2000's.
Of course there was the talk (you won't hear them talk about it anymore) from some that Brexit would allow the UK to offer work to people from outside the EU (i.e. Africans / Indians Brazilians etc) but when they did come - they were all the wrong colour for the right wing bunch of anti-immigration .
Have a read through this for a laugh
Also some Unions forgot who they are supposed to represent. How much influence have unions today in the UK? That traditional unions and other forms of grassroot organizations was a way for workers to successfully stand up to the economic and political power of the elite. While in many countries there have been a decline in unions and grassroot organizations. While also that left wing party leadership are starting to listen more to spin doctors instead of their members and grassroot organizations.
Today there are also oligarchs that make huge profits and promote theirs and theirs advertisers political interests by combining culture war issues for the masses with promoting economic policies that benefit the economic elite.

That hopefully can a new left wing party push the political debate and labour to the left. That both in UK and other countries are there public support for more left wing policies. While it will require also for example building of grassroot organizations.
